Registering New Students For The Swahili Intake In 2016...

It’s my hope that you have a great moment of serving our Lord Jesus Christ. At the end of this year we see God working with his people here.  The ACSOP is doing well in its plans and current activities that are looking to glorify our most awesome God. We are doing whatever possible to please our God and to help the school remain the best.

The school is now in the process of registering new students. Next February we are going to have a new intake, and this is going to be a Swahili steam. When we register the Swahili intake the number is high because there are many Swahili speakers that need to join the school. So far, over twenty students have registered and fifteen others are still pending completion of their required documents for registration. We hope that we are going to have a big and exciting class.

Also as Paul said to Timothy, “the things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” We are in the middle of the one week youth camp. In this camp we have 42 young men that need to be preachers one day in their life. The Future Preachers Training Camp is one of the most effective camps in Tanzania. For a one week period we are teaching them how to lead and teach others. We thank all the brethren who work with this camp and direct it. This is a big step for church growth. Some congregations are lacking strong leadership, but by teaching and encouraging young people, one day the church here will have elders and deacons through the help of these young men. We have noted most of the campers from previous years are preachers now and some are leaders in various congregations. We have six chancellors in the camp and they are doing an amazing job of leading others who were the first campers when this camp started nine years ago.

We thank you very much for the efforts and the prayers which have made all this to be possible.

In His service,

10,000 WBS Lessons And Tracts Used In Nigeria...

Beloved in Christ Jesus,

Complements of the season! We just printed ten thousand WBS lessons and tracts for our end of the years program that, by God's grace, will commence on December 19, 2015 through January 9, 2016 in Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Ondo, Lagos, Kwara, Kogi, Edo, and Taraba states. The printed tracts will be used with other Mission Printing tracts during this exercise.

Both the students and staff of the preaching school (BVBIN-Ibadan) are all set for the end of the year exercise and our old wagon (school van) is also in better shape for this western trip.

I will speak on “The Ancient Landmark” on December 19, 2015 at the Felele congregation where brother Dele Shotola is ministering in the evening open-air, while all of us will be busy seeking for lost souls in the morning time. On December 24-26, I will serve as one of the speakers at our Youth Retreat where I will speak on “Determine What To Become In Life,” on December 26 at 10:00 am, while speaking on “The Authority of The Bible” during our open-air Bible Lectureship of December 25, 2015. On January 4-8, 2016 I will work with brother Doug Wheeler in Oyo and Ondo states conducting WBS seminars.

Brethren, I taught on the “Secret of Security” (Psalm 112:7 cf. Dan. 3) on November 29 at the campus church in Butubutu and at the Onikokoro / Gbongudu congregation on December 6 on “The Battlefield,” while I will teach on “Man's Journey From This World To Heaven” (Exodus 25-30) on the coming Lord's day of December 13 and 20, 2015 at the Onikokoro / Gbongudu congregation - Ibadan.

We evangelized the Asejire congregation in Osun state on December 5 and two souls were reported to be converted by brother Kayode Solomon Eniafe on Sunday of December 6. Lord willing, we shall evangelize the Parainuewe area of Ibadan on Saturday, December 12, 2015.

Brother Abiola Joseph reported the conversion of a soul and restoration of two at the Agege congregation in Lagos state where he is ministering as one of their evangelists on December 6. He will team up with brother Joseph Abiodun Dairo, brother Ezekiel Okorougo, brother Mfon Etim, brother Okoro Chinyere, brother Matthew Odey, and our Lagos campus students to evangelize Ipaja, Baruwa, Okeodo, Maryland, and Ikorodu town of Lagos state and Sango/Ota in Ogun state in this month of December 2015.

Classes continue as usual at BVBIN-Ibadan main campus until December 23 when we hope to break for an intensive end-of-the-year program and we re-open Lord willing on January 4, 2016.

Reports from brother Isaac Olaniyan show that he is still working actively with the preacher of the Iyana Ilogbo congregation in Ogun state to nurture that congregation into maturity. Brother Ezekiel Okorougo is still using the Mission Printing tracts / booklets and WBS lessons in reaching the lost in Ipaja town and environ, Lagos state, while brother Matthew Rowland is not left out in his campaign for Christ at Akure,Ondo state.

We thank you our esteemed partners for your wonderful support and patronage in the past years. With God working through you we succeeded beyond our expectation in year 2015. Together, we have assurance of a better and blossoming relationship in year 2016 and beyond. Happy New Year in advance!

Yours, in His grace, as a servant,
Brother Makinde Ebenezer Olufemi (Minister)

Opportunities Continue To Make An Exciting Program...

Students returned to classes over the past week in Denver after a time of research and celebration of the Thanksgiving holiday. These men now finish up the last two weeks of the quarter before the end of the year. The quarter went by quickly, and these men are ready for a brief end-of-the-year break before hitting it hard for another quarter of studies in January. The first week of January will introduce several new students to the Bear Valley program. We ask you to pray for those who are headed this way to begin their two-year journey.

Reports below indicate another powerful week for extension training. From Africa and Ukraine to Paraguay, South America, staff and students alike are affecting souls for eternity. Among all the areas of training and outreach around the world, we are thankful to partner with these men in the development of training preachers. The opportunities God continues to provide make for an exciting program.

As we close out the last few weeks of the year, we anticipate the exciting news of a year-end report that shares news about all that was accomplished in 2015. We also look forward to the continued development of the extension program in the year ahead. With the development of new schools in 2016, the program is taking shape in reaching our goals for training men to preach the gospel on a global scale.

We appreciate your prayers and support of this work. We pray you are encouraged by all we do together for the cause of our Lord.

Now on to this week’s incredible reports...

Planting The Seed Of God's Word To The Kateshi People...

As we were doing it, the words of Paul came on my mind “I planted, Appollos watered, but God gave the increase” 1 Corinthians 3:6 (NKJV). Me and my coworker, Michael Lesotwa, had a wonderful opportunity this week to visit one of our graduates, Emmanuel Dagati, who is now a preacher at Kateshi. His family, relatives, and village people prepared a party just to congratulate him for his completion of his studies at ACSOP.

We had an opportunity to preach to these 250 souls who attended the party. I was asked to preach about the One True Church of the Bible, and my brother Michael had to answer a very important question which was asked as I was ending my sermon -“what must I do to be saved?” I thank brother Michael who handled that question very well, telling them how to be added to the one true church. So we emphasized to the people the need to go back to the Bible and search the truth. I had carried over 500 Bible tracts of different topics and I am telling you they were not enough at all. These people are thirsty to hear the truth and to obey it. We prayed for our brother Emmanuel for his new work of winning more souls to the Kingdom and handed him to the community to hear him preach it from the Bible.

Kateshi is a big district in the Manyara region and has a population of about 600,000 people with many different belief systems. The church has been in existence in that area since 2007 with a total of 35 adults and 7 children attending worship service every first day of the week. But the uniqueness of this people is that they are ready to hear it being preached. Let us continue to pray for Emmanuel and other graduate students as they fight the devil in their local community. Pray for two camps (FPTC & TCC) which will begin next week back to back. More than 150 kids are going to attend and learn.

Thank you again to the sponsors of these students who made it possible for these students to receive the training they need to win more souls to the Lord.

In Him,

ACSOP Graduates Fifteen Faithful Evangelists The Last Of November...

Greetings Fellow Servants,

Stephanie and I would like to thank you for your prayers of late. We thank you for all your prayers and support for us, the Lord’s work here in TZ, and for your part in the gospel.

November was a very busy time. Fifteen faithful evangelist graduated on the 28th, closing one chapter and opening another in their lives. What a joy it is to see the growth of these men over the last two years. We have great hopes and expectations for each of them, their families, and the works they will be a part of in the Kingdom. Please pray for them and the first year student body as they arrive back to their homes.

Recently, the Kioga congregation hosted a Children’s and Ladies Bible Seminar. Jane and Desdery Massawe have begun this new ministry and hope to do this on a regular basis with the many congregations throughout Tanzania. Anna and Samantha partnered with them in teaching around 150 children and 50 or so ladies. We are in awe of the maturing and spiritual development of both Desdery and Jane. They are but two examples of the growth of the Lord’s church here in Tanzania.

Renee Galloway taught over one hundred Christian ladies yesterday, our largest ever ladies gathering. The lessons were well received and the day simply could not have gone better. Jay Galloway taught our first year students on Leadership, taught Bible class, and preached each week, while Renee taught the children’s classes as well. We are grateful for all who come and join us in the work of the Lord here in TZ. This week Jay and Renee will return home so pray for their safe arrival on Wednesday evening.

December is always a busy time for us. The first week in December we host the Future Preacher’s Training Camp, directed by Micheal Losotwa (our Dean of Academics). Ben Thompson and John Rice will join us again for the Tanzania Christian Camp the week following. Please pray for those coming, including Neal Richey and his son. Also please pray for the Storks family who are coming for a survey trip in hopes of joining the TZ team in 2016.

One last prayer request. I have been dealing with some health issues for several weeks. After several treatments the two doctors I have seen here in Tanzania agree it is time to come to America for further treatment. Stephanie and I will be flying out tonight arriving late on Monday.

We thank you all for all you do in the Kingdom of God!

In Him

Students In Paraguay Begin Their Fourth Quarter Of Studies...

Andrea and I would like to wish everyone a very happy holiday season! We pray this finds you all doing well and blessed in His kingdom as we gather together with our families and friends. This time of year is always special, even if we are thousands of miles from home. We have so many things for which to thank our Lord that occurred this past year, but above all, we praise God for the blessing and opportunity to serve here in Paraguay. We love you and miss you all!

Developments at the Avenida Sacramento Iglesia de Cristo
It has been rather quiet around here this past month, but that does not mean there were no activities. For one, our interns, Pablo Yuri and Italo Rocha, have been very involved with our adolescent youth group with various classes and activities. The group is growing in both numbers and spirituality. They also organize a “Men’s Soccer Night” every Monday evening. Plus, they are active in our Young Adults group meetings and events. They do a great job!

The men of the congregation have been teaching our Sunday morning classes on “The Christian Home,” which is going very well and they, too, have been doing an outstanding job!

The Asuncion Bible Academy students have begun their fourth quarter of studies! They are all doing very well with their assignments and each one has received good grades for the past three quarters. The first few months of this quarter has them studying 1 and 2 Kings, Galatians and Ephesians, Church History, and Church Planting. I am teaching three of the classes and brother Eliezer Perez is teaching a fourth class. The Church Planting class has them preparing a special group project for a survey trip to the city of Hernandarias where we will be gathering information with the hope planting a new church there within the next couple of years. After the holidays, they will then have several short courses taught by our brethren Luis Camacho, Osvaldo Rodriguez, and Ike Yegros. We ask that you please keep the students in your prayers.

Developments at the Iglesia de Cristo of Ñemby
The brethren at Ñemby have decided to look for a place to rent in the city of San Lorenzo as a place for worship and study. After much consideration and searching for a place in downtown Ñemby, they have decided that perhaps San Lorenzo would be a better choice for them. The city is very close to Ñemby and there are several members who live there already. There are also members that live in Capiata who attend, so this option would be better for all of the members. They plan to find something on the main route of traffic and with easy access from the bus routes.

Our missionary to Ñemby is making plans to get married this next month to our sister in Christ, Raquel Franco. We are excited for them!

Personal Developments and Activities
Andrea was really busy this past month with lots of activities with the Las Amigas Club. November is always a busy month for them because of the annual Thanksgiving Luncheon, one of their biggest fundraising events of the year.

ACE Hardware recently opened a store in Paraguay and has chosen the Las Amigas Club as their local charity. They wanted to put on a big, in-store event to promote their new relationship and asked Andrea and Kim to host a cooking demonstration on how to prepare a traditional American Thanksgiving Dinner. They did a great job and it was a big success! Watch out, Martha Stewart!

Andrea was once again invited back to the U.S. Embassy to participate in their annual Artisan Craft Fair with her business, Más Que Dulces. Andrea sold out of everything she had made for the day, made many new contacts, and took several orders. Along with all the other regular orders, MQD has done quite well this month!

This year we spent our Thanksgiving Dinner in Paraguay with a group of our American friends and their families.... at a Brazilian Steakhouse. It lacked the traditional Thanksgiving flair, but the important thing was spending special time with special friends.

It was great to have David, Lisa, and Michael Carter come visit and worship with us one Sunday this past month. Michael is currently serving in Paraguay with the Peace Corps. David and Lisa are missionaries in El Valle, Panama, and had made a trip to come visit their son. We know them from having visited Panama and also through their family in Milton, FL. After services, we had a nice lunch together and thoroughly enjoyed our time visiting with them.

“THANK YOU!” to all of our generous supporters!

Another Batch Of Students Enter The Journey Of Training In Togo...

Just after the graduation, another batch of 12 men started a journey that will take them between 2 and 3 years. There are plans to enroll this batch of students in an apprenticeship program to acquire some skill before they graduate. Should this plan work, we shall extend the duration of academic work to three years instead of the regular two years. The interesting thing about this group is that out of the twelve men, only two are not members of Church of Christ. However, it may interest you to know that one student was baptized after one week of classes. Komou Tchaa- came from the Baptist Church but converted after one week in School. There is power in the Gospel. Hovi K. Enyonam came from Hosanna Prayer Center. He remains a prospect of eleven students.

BVBI Starts a School Farm
On the October 15 and 16, the Bear Valley Bible Institute in Kpalime, Togo was blessed with the presence of Ebenezer Udofia from Healing Hands International. He was the facilitator

in a two day workshop organized for BVBI students, past and present selected church members members, government officials from the ministry of Agriculture, and some farmers from the Kpalime area. We had over seventy participants during the workshop.

The objective of the work shop dubbed, “FOOD SECURITY WORKSHOP,” is to assist participants in new ways of producing food for their family and neighbors and sell what they cannot use to support families financially.

Some of the topics discussed included: preparing compost manure, raising beds for planting, drip irrigation, and farm management techniques.

Ebenezer demonstrated how the irrigation kit works. Participants were fed with lunch each day. Activities during the workshop included: devotion each morning, a couple of hours in a class session, and then practicals on the BVBI land, etc. On the final day we planted six different vegetables on the raised beds.

This workshop marks the beginning of what has become the BVBI school farm. Each of the students will have a raised bed and grow their choice of vegetable on it. They will manage that bed for the period they will be in school. The students will use some of the crops grown and the rest will be sold to the public.

Chariot Mission is Making Impact: 15 Baptisms Recorded in October.
Efforts with the Chariot over the months are yielding great results now. A lot of people we approached with the gospel are making the decision to follow Christ. It may interest you to know that people are now coming to ask us to baptize them. We have some who made contacts through our resource center where we give out tracts and conduct Bible studies. Others are calling preachers on the phone and a lot more are visiting on Sundays.

In order to facilitate baptism, we have constructed a baptistery on campus so that we can have easy access to water at all times. This accounts for several baptisms in October.

Ladies of Nyiveme Church of Christ Meet
The Nyiveme Church of Christ has remained the largest congregation of the Lord’s Church in Kpalime. The ladies are more organized and are contributing to the growth of the church in Kpalime area. They meet quite often to discuss pertinent issues concerning the church. They sometimes organize visitation programs and personal work.

Three Graduate From The Master's Program In Ukraine...

Hello brothers, families and churches,

In my November report I want to share with you some news about events and activities at the Institute and some local congregations.

In November I managed to travel to Russia and to visit annual lectureship for Church of Christ preachers and leaders. The theme was “Waiting For the Coming of the Lord.” It happened that I was one of the main speakers for the lectureship. It was a great blessing to participate in such an event. There were about 20 preachers from all over Russia attending the lectureship. There were representatives from churches in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and many other major cities. There are no Bible schools in Russia that would train preachers with an in-class program. Russian brothers and I discussed different ways to open a new school in the territory of Russia. Some of them were interested in this idea. I ask you to pray for God to open a door for us where we need them.

Also, last month we had festive event at the building at the Bila Tserkva Church of Christ. On November 12 we had a graduation ceremony for Masters Program. This year we had three graduates. Ivan Skoleba is a preacher in Ivano-Frankivsk. Stanislav Kuropiatnikov is preaching in Lviv. Vadym Tymchenko is a preacher in Mariupol. Thus we have an addition to our teaching staff and faithful brothers who are willing to help the work of the Institute.

We are still actively looking for the future students for the new school year. There are 5 men who are willing to study in our program. Last month we visited another congregation in Kyiv, and we plan to visit another two congregations in December. Also while being in Russia, I tried to encourage those who are willing to study Bible to come to Ukraine and study at our institute. However, due to the military conflict, it doesn’t seem possible right now.

At the end of November, we had a youth conference with the theme “Moses’ Line.” It was a first youth conference at the new place. We tried to encourage local congregations and their young people to serve the Lord. The attendance was rather low. Yet it was just the beginning, and we’ll be working in this area.

Also we plan to have a one-day meeting for the preachers. There are about 15 preachers and leaders of the churches who signed up to attend this event. The theme will be “The Unity Based On the Word Of God.” The speakers will be teachers of the Institute and preachers with big experience in ministry. The Institute has been in this part of Ukraine for a short time, and we want to meet with local preachers and leaders of the churches. We are trying to cover all congregations in Central Ukraine. I hope this event goes well, and it will help us have a good standing among local congregations.

Life is stable in Bila Tserkva Church of Christ. I preach and teach Bible classes occasionally. We also evangelize on the streets of the town. It’s a good opportunity for both students and members of the church to get practical experience in serving the Lord. An elderly lady started coming to Bible classes after another evangelizing effort we made.

Thank you for your help and constant prayers. We still believe in the power of the gospel and its action. Thank you for your patience and financial support of our ministry. Students and staff of the Institute send you their greetings.

Your brother and coworker,
Dennis Sopelnik

Preparing For The End-Of-The-Year Campaign in Mbanga...

Dear support team,

Greetings my beloved in the Lord. We are nearing the end of the third quarter in Mbanga and preparing for the end of the year campaign with the high rate of congregational demand for field work, but we are going to serve in those that are really in need. The laborers are few, it is just the beginning.

Still in the domain of evangelism, we all traveled with the students to the Southwest Region for an annual lectureship. To easily get to the Southwest Region you can use our local train, but this time around our locomotive was bad and we had to pass through the river Moungo with the Ferry. We finally went through a local engine boot. After our four days with other members of the Churches of Christ nationwide, God blessed the mission with 9 precious souls, with two restorations. Over 170 congregations were present and so many invitees.

Because our presence in French-speaking Cameroon is to transform the French-speaking world into a world of Christianity, with no rest after coming back from the annual lectureship, we traveled immediately to a town called Sancho around the West Region for a visibility study of the terrain to see how we can start a new congregation in this area (virgin land). We spent the night there with two other instructors, but we are back safely and our beloved one will be on his way back to Bertoua after a long voyage.

Completing Their First Year Of Studies, Students Go For A Three-Week Campaign...

Dearest in Christ,

Greetings from this part of the globe. We are doing great and by the special grace of God we rounded out the first year of studies with the Gamma batch today. It was time for us to lift our hands to say, “Thank you, God for your protection and a safe year without any major problem with our students, staff, and families.”

We do hope you are doing great. We wish you the compliments of the season.

I am writing this report because I am traveling to Nigeria now, and I may not have access to the internet while there to send my report.

The year was a huge success to us. God used us to accomplish His mission here in Cameroon. We thank you for all that you do to make the things that happen, to happen in Cameroon.

Elder Randy, one of the elders from the overseeing congregation, was in Cameroon to teach 1 Corinthians, and his wife was here also. It was a blessing for the Gamma students to sit and study with him, a great teacher. The students appreciated their studies with him.

Sister Robin Martin was also in Cameroon: Wotutu alongside her husband to teach a course to the current students wives, “The Home, God’s Way.” It was great for all our students wives to benefit, both them and their families and the family of God where they will serve.

The number of sisters who came for the course from different villages were impressed to study with the sister, even though some of them have not gone to a former school. It was great. That is why we are struggling in Brightland Christian Academy to go ahead with the adult literacy classes that will help many women learn how to read and write.

The students took their exams Saturday, which mark the end of their first year. We were able to take pictures of the ladies, current students, and the general family.

It was time to have fellowship with the wives of some students who were visiting Limbe for the very first time. We took them beside the ocean and enjoyed fellowship.

It was a time to make speeches, a time to appreciate God, and also to sing to His name. It was a deep time for devotion and fellowship in prayers and songs.

We held our hands, which was a sign of our unity. We prayed  to our God from whom all blessings flow.

Plans
We shall start the new year with many calls to come over and help.

Appreciations
God bless you. We are thankful to God for all your efforts, prayers, and support to us to end up the year with 21 students, staff, and families without any problem. Thank you very much. Please keep us in your prayers as our students will be in 21 different locations for 3 weeks extra for house to house and then transit to holiday. It is only on January 2 that we shall welcome them back as we start the journey for the last year of their studies. Keep us in your prayers as you share this report with others.

I will not share report again until I return from Nigeria.

God bless you.

Nearing The End Of One Year And Preparing For A New One...

After a time of celebrating Thanksgiving Day, students returned to Bear Valley to finish their last few weeks of the quarter. Entering the last month of the year introduces several significant thoughts: two young men will complete their studies and graduate, freshmen complete their first two quarters and become sophomores, a new class of students will enter the program in January, we reflect on the achievements of the past year, and we consider the direction for 2016.

The same is true within the extension program. December is an exciting time of the year as we have opportunity to examine the growth and development of the program throughout the world. We are always encouraged by the results accomplished by these students who are dedicated to putting into practice the lessons they learn in the classroom. We look forward to sharing the information as we approach the end of the year.

Looking ahead to 2016 is exciting. Two new schools begin training men to preach: Suva, Fiji and Mzuzu, Malawi (East Africa). Both of these schools are strategically located to train several men to preach. The location in Fiji allows us to work with men throughout the South Pacific and the American Samoan islands. The school in Malawi has already interviewed 54 men and received 66 applications, with more on the way. The opportunities are beyond exciting.

Additionally, several new locations are under consideration for the year ahead. Potentially, another five locations could begin training. We ask you to pray about the development of these locations and the investigative process to ensure the right decisions are made in God’s time and direction.

Now on to this week’s incredible reports...

Gamma Batch Nears The End Of Their First Year Of Studies In Cameroon...

Dearest in Christ,

Greetings from this part of the globe. We do hope this letter finds you in good health and sound faith. We are doing our best here and we continue to thank God for His great care and love over us.

Last week was great as our students were busy writing their fourth quarter exams. It went on well.

Last week ended with the annual Bible lectureship in Cameroon. It was a huge success as you will read it on this report.

Our students, with others were ready for the annual Bible lectureship in Banga Bakundu Village, it was good to see brethren from different part of the country to join together to evangelize and also to nurture one another.

We left Wotutu with many cartons of Mission Printing tracts because there are some congregations who called and pleaded with us to get some tracts for them. It was great and a fulfillment for us to give out many tracts to zealous evangelists who will take it to the hands of prospects, who by His grace, can become converts. Keep praying for this.

Our students are not strangers in a place as far as is the work of the Lord. They arrived at Banga Bakundu Village early enough to help the host congregation get things set for others. We are glad to plant in them the spirit to serve not to be served.

Immediately after setting things in order, students and staff started with house to house evangelism. We love this because it is done one on one. It was good to see the boldness of students knocking doors and meeting people in front of their doors and many will welcome us and give us seats to share with them the message.

Elder Randy and wife are in Cameroon. They came to teach a short-course. They are from the overseeing congregation and it is always good to welcome them to see the work first hand and to make spiritual contribution to the work. This makes the third time for them to come and be part of the work. Keep praying for them that their stay and their mission to be accomplished to the glory of God.

Our van which came through their efforts took them today to Buea Central Prison after our worship for the prison ministry that one member of our congregation is a minister there, brother Nitua Vincent. It was great to hear him speak the message to the inmates who are now Christians to be positive in all that they do.

We were not allowed to take cameras inside the prison yard. That is why we don’t have pictures of the team inside the small hall which we use for worship.

We were able to take a picture with some of the brethren in Wotutu who accompanied us to the prison. We are having good weather now.

God is faithful to us. Our weekend evangelism led to the adding of 6 precious souls into His vineyard. Keep praying for the souls and the congregations to nurture them to maturity.

Plans
1) The last short-course to mark our first year of studies for the Gamma batch starts tomorrow and the maiden class for the students wives starts tomorrow. We pray we always have the means to get student wives at the end of each quarter to come stay in Wotutu for one week to study, so that they will be active partners of the work their husbands will do full time after graduation. It cost us about 25.000 frs to feed and transport each of them from their villages to Wotutu and back after one week.

2) Keep me in your prayers as I travel to Nigeria for the NCI lectureship and graduation ceremonies next week.

Appreciations
Our words cannot really express the joy and thankfulness of all that you do for us and the work here. God bless you and open doors for you more.

Do your best to share with others.

God bless you all.

Moving Forward In The Lord's Word After A Successful Graduation...

The Lord’s work continues to go forward in Tanzania and we express our deep gratitude toward our heavenly Father and his continued favor. We also thank God for your selfless partnership in this noble effort at reaching the lost throughout East Africa.

On Saturday, November 28th, the Andrew Connally School of Preaching graduated 15 men and sent them on their way into the fields of harvest. Please take time to pray for these brothers in Christ. They will be going back to do a difficult work in difficult places. Generally, they won’t be supported and will need to do some type of secular work to provide for their family and still dedicate the necessary time and effort into reaching the lost and preparing to preach. They face great challenges and are certainly in need of our petitions to the Father. This year's graduates are:

AMRI ALPHONCE LUBARATI
ASHERS  I. MBASHA
DANIEL T. KARERA
ELIAS M. KWILASA
EMMANUEL BURTON
EMANUEL D. DAREMA
EMANUEL JOSEPHAT CHAMBIA
EZEKIEL MARKO LAIZER
JOSEPH JUMA WITHARE
LAIRUMBE N. LAIZER
ELIYA NDWALA KERETO
AGRAY DISMAS MANG’IRA
RENATUS ANTHONY NKHANGAA
SAMSONI NIKASI TARIMO
WINNY J. MAPUNDA

There are a number of plans in development for the future of the work in Tanzania and we are excited about sharing them with you…just not quite yet. Once we have the exciting news all dolled up and pretty, we will tell you all about it. Until then, we are busy planning and busting at the seams with excitement. Please pray that those involved in plans for the future will dream really big and have the vision necessary to do the best we can for the kingdom’s sake.

In addition to the extensive plans being made for Tanzania I am also privileged to be a able to work with planning for some of the other Bear Valley extension schools. Next week I will be in Denver in a concentrated planning session concerning the extension program. There are a lot of brethren involved in trying to train men to preach the gospel both here and throughout the world and we are grateful that there are so many talented and diverse people willing to do so. Please pray for those seeking to train preachers and those contemplating dedicating their life in service to God through the proclamation of His word.

Until next time, take care and God bless.

Yours in Christ,
Sean & Anita

P.S. I was sure disappointed that I couldn't personally be at this year's graduation. As a result I rely on others to share their pictures so I can share them with you. This is one of the blessings of social media. There are a number of Facebook pages containing pictures of the graduation and other events surrounding the work. Training The Women To Teach Children In Tanzania...

This month Agustine, Kashumba, and I went to Mosquito River to teach our first farming seminar. Around 30 men and women came to hear about new techniques and to hear the Word of God. Kashumba began by talking about Genesis and how God gave us the land and animals to manage and for our benefit. He talked about how this is a gift from God that we need to be thankful for, be good managers of, and use for the benefit of not only ourselves but others also; because everything we do should be done for the glory of God and not ourselves. With that attitude God will provide for His people.

Next, all of us went to the Shamba and we worked together building raised beds. We taught them how to lay out straight beds using strings and sticks. Then, we showed them how to use the excess grass and animal waste to line the bottom of the beds to help with soil nutrition. After we had the beds complete we showed them how to set up drip irrigation lines. Thanks to a local farmer in the Church we had young plants that we were able to plant. We then tried to answer all of the questions from the Church and spent time in fellowship with them while they fed everyone present beans and rice. The goal of this trip was to try and teach these people how to provide for their physical body and the physical bodies of others, so that they can use that to provide for their spiritual bodies and the spiritual bodies of others as well. Like we said earlier all things are to be done for the glory of God.

Evangelism (Anna’s point of view)
We held our first children’s seminar this month in a small village called Kioga. The idea for the seminar came from a local couple, Jane and Desdery Massawe. Children here are taught like miniature adults. Class typically consists of a teacher reading a story from the Bible, asking
questions and that is all. Jane and Desdery had the idea to go around to different villages, hold children’s classes, and then in the afternoon hold a seminar for the women in the Church on the importance of teaching children and how to teach them at their level. We also have a small resource room at the Arusha Bible School where Jane lives. We want to show the women the
resources available to them and how to use them.

We began the seminar at 9 am with just a few children (around 20). Samantha, Jane, and I led the children in Bible songs while Justin and Desdery stood outside greeting the incoming children. The children walked themselves and their siblings to the Church. Many of the children had babies, too small to walk or talk, on their hips.

By 9:30 the small Church building was packed. More than 150 children had showed up! At 9:30 we split the children into groups. Jane and I stayed in the Church building with the younger children 6 and under. While Samantha took the older group. I taught the younger children the Days of Creation while Samantha taught the older ones the books of the Bible. Around 10:30 we swapped groups and I taught the older children the Days of Creation and Samantha taught the younger children the books of the Bible. In addition to the lessons Samantha and I both had coloring sheets for the children that went along with what they were learning. Much to our surprise, when we handed out crayons, we learned that the children did not know how to use them. Many of them tried to hand them back to us. After a few demonstrations, the children were so excited to color the sheets we had provided for them! Each one wanted their “pitcha” (picture) taken with their coloring sheet. In my lesson we also handed out creation bracelets. They were just simple bracelets Samantha and I had made with 7 beads. Each bead was a different color to represent the different days. The children loved them.

At 11:30 we brought all the children back into the Church building where we again sang songs before Desdery prayed for our lunch. All morning the women of the Church worked hard to be able to feed the more than 200 people present. Feeding this many people was an interesting challenge but all went well.

Lunch ended around 1:00 and while the women in the Church cleaned up, we took the children to a nearby field to play games. Here is where things got interesting. Since this was the first seminar, we used our own money to fund everything. The food and drinks cost $300 (we are trying to think of ways to cut this down. We are going to try and take our own coolers of clean (boiled) water next time to put Kool-aid in to cut down on the cost of 250 drinks – even though we had this many, we ran out. However, we need to purchase coolers just for this. We are trying to get the food budget down to around $150, but it is difficult in a third world country where the food and drinks need to be safe and clean). After buying the food we went to find soccer balls that we could put the numbers 1-7 on to play a game where you throw the ball, catch it, look at one of the numbers either of your hands, touch, and say what happened on that day of creation. However, we only bought 3 balls – volley balls because they were cheaper – but still the 3 volleyballs cost $50.

So, going onto a field with 150+ kids with 3 balls proved to be interesting. We need more balls, games, activities for this large number of children.

After an hour we sent the children home and returned to the Church. Jane and I then talked to around 30 of the local women about the importance of teaching children. I started by talking about how Jesus saw the importance of children in Matthew 18. How they are the future of the Church and how if Jesus wanted the children brought to Him – we should have the same attitude. I then discussed why it is important to teach children at their level. I explained how they process things differently and pictures and activities help them to see what we are talking about in their minds. Tiffany Gaines, another missionary here, gave a great example that I used. In Kiswahili the word ndege means anything that flies i.e. bird, plane, bee etc. So, if you have a picture of what you are talking about it helps them better understand and see what you are talking about in their minds.

Lastly, Jane and I showed the women different resources available to them at the Arusha Bible School and how to use them. I showed them a coat of many colors they can use to tell the story of Joseph, felt boards that can show many different Bible stories, puppets who can help tell the stories, an apron that they can use to tell the 10 plagues etc.

This being our first children’s seminar we were praising God for its success. It went better than we ever could have imagined and we have God to thank for that. The next one will be held at Karatu on December 12th, Lord willing. If you would like to help us by sending funds so we can purchase food, beads for bracelets, ink for coloring sheets, games/activities, help pay for our gas etc. Please send checks payable to Horton’s Chapel Church of Christ:

PLEASE PUT FOR THE MAYNARDS – AFRICA.

Most of all, please keep us and this work in your prayers. All glory goes to God for He is able to do more than we ever ask or imagine.

Students Provide A Great Boost To Evangelism In Kenya...

Greetings from your fellow workers at the Kenya School of Preaching. I trust this finds you and all doing well your side.

The students are doing really well in class and have been a great boost to evangelism in the area around the school. This week the 20 students are going for the December long break and will be back in January 2016. This has been wonderful class and I can't wait to hear the reports of the work they will get involved in. Let’s keep them in our prayers to keep the desire and the zeal for evangelism alive as they have been doing in 11 local congregations around Kisumu and Rift Valley.

Short Course
This quarter we had the rare blessing and opportunity of having Daniel Gaines and Charles Heberth from ACSOP Arusha, Tanzania come to teach Marriage/Family and the epistle of James, respectively. This was beneficial for the students to learn about the same gospel from different people of various ethnicity. The faculty was also rejuvenated by sharing with the visiting teachers. Thanks to Cy and Mike Reese for making this possible. We pray this will continue in the future.

Bible and Agriculture Skills
As we look forward to hearing of the great evangelistic work of the students during the December break, we also wait eagerly to hear of the impacts of the Agricultural seminar that was conducted this year to help the students produce food to sustain themselves and families. All the students received the irrigation kits and we trust they will use both the Bible and agricultural skills to reach out to the spiritual and physical needs of their communities. We thank Healing Hands International for the work they did here through Ebenezer and Mike Reese. We hope this will be done every two years when we have new class.

In my last reports, I did not share the great work that was done by the students during the break. Most of the students teamed up with other local preachers in various villages and evangelized in an effort to establish two churches, 40 baptisms, and 14 restorations. This should make us all have hope of greater work in the Kingdom during the break.

Church Meeting at Hellena Court
We are in the process of looking for a rental building where the church will meet and be led separate from the preaching school. There is a need to separate the church from the preaching school for the people here to see clearly the organization of the church as it is in the Bible. This will require assistance and we pray brethren will help this noble cause of having a New Testament Church established in Kisumu city.

Gospel Invitations
During this December break, I already have five invitations to speak in different gospel campaigns, meetings, and Bible studies. This is humbling to me, yet I fear I might not be able to attend because all these require funds for travels, accommodations, and Bibles which are genuinely needed in these meetings. Keep this in your prayers for the desire to be realized. I need to attend these to be part of rescuing and building of souls.

Graduation
I will travel to Arusha to attend ACSOP’s 12th graduation ceremony on November 28. This is an opportunity to meet faithful brethren and learn from wise men of God on how we can improve and better our best.

Closing remark
Brethren, this marks the end of our year two - quarter one for the second class here at KSOP. We thank our faithful God for His guidance, we thank the elders at Charlotte Avenue for their unwavering support, and we thank all for your prayers and support. Do not grow weary in doing good especially for the work that is changing spiritual lives daily like this. Remember our cry of moving the preaching school from a residential compound to an environment conducive for learning.

Blessings and Happy Holidays. We will continue to mention your names and the work to God.

Director, Kenya School of Preaching

It is again that time that we communicate to you and update you concerning what is happening here at Bear Valley Bible Institute Zambia.

We report to you with a great joy to watch these men (students) grow during the time of their study here. By this point they have pretty good idea of what is expected of them and how the school operates on a daily basis.

The Faithfulness Of God Is Seen In Another Great Week In Cameroon...

Dear support team,

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ. We have experienced a power failure since last week and could not easily send my report, sorry for that inconvenience.

We appreciate the will of God in our lives and His faithfulness. Students have started writing their end of third quarter exams. We pray for their success. As for the school, everything is okay and there are no major problems. We shall travel with the students on Thursday for the annual lectureship in Banga Bakundu to stay there for three days because on Sunday, we shall still send some students to go help congregations in conducting their worship.

We had another great week for the work of God. Weekend evangelism is gaining a lot of ground in our community. After Mujuka, we are focusing towards Njombe and Sancho, a virgin land just like Mujuka before this time. Myself and two other instructors shall travel to Sancho on Sunday, immediately after they finish worship at the lectureship grounds for the visibility of studies in the area to establish a new congregation because we already. Evangelism is our Mission and our Mission is Evangelism. Keep praying for this vision as God is working with us to succeed in the most difficult part of our country, French-speaking Cameroon.

God blessed the assembly in Muuka last weekend with four precious souls, that is three brothers and one sister. Also one precious soul was added at home in Mbanga, the wife of brother Benjamin. There is still joy in the presence of God over these souls that have been taken from the hands of the devil. Keep on praying for these congregations.

A Time To Be Thankful...

Thursday is Thanksgiving Day. While we are thankful each day, this week provides an opportunity for family and friends to celebrate a time of gratitude. We know the students in Denver are thankful for the week to focus on assignments as they near the end of the second quarter in December. We also know they are thankful for much more, as they express daily their gratitude for the opportunity to study at the Bible Institute.

From a staff perspective, we are thankful for each of these students and their desire to prepare for greater service in the kingdom of our Lord. We express our gratitude for God’s providential hand that guided them to Denver for deeper study, and we are confident they will make a lasting impression wherever they serve.

We are also thankful for each person connected to the extension training program. We give thanks for the students in each location because of the same desire to prepare for greater service in the kingdom, for their diligence in studying, and their proclamation of the word to the lost. We offer our thanks for the staff members who give of their time and energy to provide the proper guidance needed for these students to do the work. And we are thankful for the coordinators and teachers associated with Bear Valley Bible Institute International who serve as liaisons between Denver and the locations where they assist the development of preacher training.

We also want to thank the supporters of this work. Supporting this work involves more than financial support. There are so many who pray every day for this program, send words of encouragement, donate travel miles, and work behind the scenes to ensure the smooth operation of the entire program at Bear Valley. Your support of this work does not go unnoticed, and we are certainly thankful for those who provide the needed financial support to continue the work.

We are especially thankful to our God for sending His only Son as a sacrifice for our sins and the way to an eternal home. Without the demonstration of His love and continued guidance, this program would not exist, nor would it have a purpose to exist. We owe everything to Him. Thank You.

Now on to this week’s incredible reports...

The Gospel Continues To Spread Throughout Cameroon...

Dearest in Christ,

Greetings from this part of the globe. We do hope you are under the protecting hands of God as we are living in a world full of uncertainty. God made man free, but we can see man everywhere in chains and troubles, while few men have dedicated themselves to move and share the free gospel of Christ. Many have made themselves agents of Satan as they don’t care who dies in their planned acts to kill. Many innocent souls are dying without the gospel because of these men.

We pray for the world and we trust our God is watching and will act in His time. Let us not stop praying. Evil is ravaging the world daily, but we have the truth in our hands. Let us be committed to make Christ known. Too many who cry for freedom, guns, bombs, and unholy summits will not bring lasting peace to the world.

We were out for weekend evangelism taking the free bread of life to those who are hungry. Many will appreciate the simple truth of the Bible and many think we are joking. Lot’s future sons-in-law thought he was joking when he told them the destruction of Sodom.

I am impressed with the opportunity to always send our students house to house. It builds them up as they are confronted with many different issues on a wide range of subjects in the field.

We continue to send our appreciation to Mission Printing, as many congregations keep coming to Wotutu to collect Mission Printing tracts, which are a great tool in our evangelistic efforts. One couple came from a far away village to get cartons of tracts which will be used in their communities daily. They said, “There is no more perfect gift to give our congregation as the years draw to an end, than to give a tool that will help a soul being transformed.” It was amazing for me to hear this, and I pray that as these tracts keep going through many hands, they will also get into their hearts which will bear fruit.

BVBIC-Wotutu: we spent our time teaching the Bible and Bible related courses to train and equip a preachers fully. We do our best not to produce half-baked preachers; that is why we do vocational training in gardening and agriculture. Most of our preachers can do this in the field and it will help them sustain life in ministry. They do practicals on a tomato farm.

Learning without playing makes Jack a dull boy. This saying is common in many societies. In Brightland Christian Academy our kids are grounded with the word daily before they start their day. Once a week, sports come up to keep them fit. Christian education is penetrating little by little.

This weekend makes a difference. Since this year started, brother Chu Elvis has been going to a community near Douala, Bekoko, for weekend evangelism. He met a Muslim man and studied the Bible with him for one day and gave him the tract “A Reply to a Muslim,” and by the special grace of God the man is French speaking. He obeyed the gospel and today was the first time in his life to worship God sitting on a chair. It was great for him and we pray that his wife and children will see his example as the days unfold. The Lord added 3 precious souls into His church over the weekend.

Plans
Students started their exams and will end before Thursday, where we shall all move to the annual Bible lectureship of the churches of Christ in Cameroon. We shall be involved in evangelism and lectures. We shall all return to Wotutu from Banga Bakundu to Wotutu to welcome elder Randy and wife who will arrive to start teaching a course to students and their wives, respectively. Keep them in your personal prayers for safe travel and a safe stay with us for one week.

Appreciation
God bless you all the more and keep you safe as you continue to invest your time, funds, and many other things that are very significant to the smooth running of the work here. Without you, I doubt if this would have been possible. We pray for you to have the grace to continue, as this work is making an impact in the lives of the students and many congregations and communities. Do your best to share this report with others.

God bless you.
