The week ahead is always a highlight in the year for the staff of the Bear Valley Bible Institute in Denver and the Extension staff. Beginning this Friday morning we will share in a time of retreat at the Eternal Purpose Retreat Center near Denver. The staff all come together to spend a weekend of sharing news about the work in each area of their ministries. During this time we will also examine areas where we can grow and improve our approach to the work for the future.
This time together also serves the purpose of helping build up and encourage each other as we begin another school year in Denver and learn about God’s work throughout the world. The theme of this year’s retreat is “The Mission of God,” based on the text of Genesis 12:1-3. We will learn from each other about God’s mission as it was promised to Abraham, fulfilled in Christ, and applied to us today. I look forward to reporting about the success of our time together.
This week also brings reports from the various extension schools concerning ways God is blessing the efforts of staff and students around the world. There is also encouragement found in learning how God is giving the increase to the preaching and teaching of the gospel. The dedication of these students to learn and then practice what they are learning helps us all witness how mighty our God is and how true He is to His word.
The news will provide a positive light in the midst of a dark and negative world. Thank you for taking time to read through the reports that have been provided. You will be grateful for the time invested in learning about these special works.
Now on to the other reports...
