FIRST QUARTER REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2025

INTRODUCTION

On behalf of the staff from the Bear Valley Bible Institute Lusaka, I wish to submit this First Quarter Report of the year 2025.

COURSES COVERED

The courses covered were three as shown below, giving us a total of 36 taught so far.

1)    The Book of James

2)    Intertestamental Perion

3)    The Book of 2 Corinthians

On average, we had 12 students who attended the classes in the quarter under review.

OUTREACH PROGRAMS

Congregational maturing: Chresso University church of Christ: - In the quarter under discussion, the Lusaka Central church of Christ in conjunction with the Bear Valley Bible Institute team, frequently visited the Chresso University church of Christ with a view of maturing the congregation. You may note that this congregation was planted in the year 2024 and has a lot of potential for growth. During the school holidays, the brethren congregate at the home of one of the members outside the university campus.

Congregational maturing: Situmbeko church of Christ: - In the first quarter of the year 2025, the Lusaka Central church of Christ spearheaded an outreach program at Situmbeko church of Christ with a view of enhancing congregational growth numerically and spiritually. This congregation was also planted in the year 2024. The Bear Valley Bible Students played a pivotal role in maturing this particular congregation.

Preaching at the Prisons: - In the same quarter under discussion, the Bear Valley Bible Institute students continued preaching to the incarcerated at the three Lusaka based correctional facilities. It may be put on record that a congregation of about twenty church of Christ members has been planted at Lusaka Central Correctional Facility. One of our students takes Holy Communion to the inmates every Sunday.

Door to door Evangelism: - In the quarter under review, the Kanyama West church of Christ, embarked on a door to door evangelism in the surrounding community of the church building. One of the Bear Valley students congregates at the same church and he is the one leading the evangelism program.

In the quarter under review, eleven (12) baptisms were recorded from the following respective congregations were Bear Valley students were actively involved:

WORKSHOP

In the same month of March, the BVBI team attended an evangelism workshop which was conducted by the visiting brothers from India in conjunction with the Chilenje church of Christ. The activity exposed our students to other evangelism techniques.

In the quarter under review, students from their respective congregations were involved in teaching the new converts, Bible study classes and preaching.

REGISTRATION OF THE BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE – LUSAKA

The leadership at Lusaka Central church together with the Bear Valley Management worked tirelessly to push for the registration of the Bible school in accordance with the statutory requirements. The school constitution and other supporting documents were submitted to the Registrar of Societies for registration. We are just waiting for the registration certificate to be issued most likely in the second quarter of the year 2025.

 GUEST

The BVBI Lusaka was privileged to be visited by Brother Donnie Estep. During his visit, the brother was privileged to meet with the students and the members of the Board of Directors for Bear Valley Bible Institute Lusaka, who had their first board meeting.

 CONCLUSION

The BVBI Lusaka is grateful for the continued support being invested in the advancement of the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the growing of the Kingdom of God.

Graduation in Mbanga

Dear Supporters,

The great work of training men to preach in the French side of Mbanga Cameroon continues and we give God all the glory for the increase that He has given to the work of our hands.

The BVBIC-Mbanga began in April 2015 and has just finished her 10th year of training men to preach. This means that we have now trained 5 batches of men and have now begun with batch number 6.

In the first 4 batches of the school, French speaking men from Chad came to Mbanga to study. There were also Chadian men being trained in French schools of preaching in Benin, Ivory Coast, and Nigeria.

During the 5th batch, since we were blessed to be able to start a Bear Valley school in Moundou Chad, we brought 2 men from the Democratic Republic of Congo to be trained in Mbanga. These two men just graduated from BVBIC-Mbanga in March and we are working on getting 4 more Congolese men to Mbanga to join batch number 6 in their two years of training. The youngest of the two graduates from Chad was the valedictorian of the batch after having come to school one quarter late and making up the courses he had missed along the way. Please be praying for these Congolese men as we are facing challenges getting them to and from Congo to Cameroon because of a recent escalation in danger in moving around the Congo.

Our staff in the Mbanga school are doing a great job of training men and have been in pretty good health although one of our instructors, Giresse Alain, a graduate of Mbanga himself, got Hepatitis B from a blood transfusion following a motorcycle accident. He is undergoing regular injections and needs to do so for one year. He has completed one month of treatments and also has the next three months paid for. He will need support to be able to pay for the other 8 months of treatment. Any help toward his care would be appreciated.

We have a preacher wife program in Mbanga like the one in Wotutu where we offer the wife of the preacher student 8 one-week courses that will help them to be the best they can be at teaching children, teaching other women, and being evangelistic in their area. 6. Preparing for and Hosting a Vacation Bible School – No written curriculum. Organized and taught by Karen Pond who comes to Cameroon and implements the topic for the year. She prepares the lessons and brings hands-on materials as well. She meets with the ladies each day to review the material that will be taught the following day and discuss how to use the handouts and materials as well as talk about any challenges that were faced during that day of teaching and discuss ways to overcome the challenges. The ladies teach alongside experienced teachers from Wotutu and Mbanga. We email the lessons in advance and have copies made for them so that they can study ahead of time.

7. Marriage and Family Life – Curriculum by Bill Stewart – This is a short course for the students and a wife’s class combined. We use the normal short course material and host an “I Choose My Spouse Again Banquet”.

8. Defending the Faith-Essential Doctrines – Curriculum by Randy and Robin Martin

 The school does some small agricultural activity for the purpose of learning how to become self-sufficient as well as to produce food for themselves and for widows and orphans around as well.

 Here are the statistics for the school since her inception in April 2015. There are many other good things happening as a result of the work of our graduates and evangelism teams that are working to help the church to grow in French Cameroon.

Teamwork highlighted in Moundou, Chad

For this Moundou Chad report, I would like to focus on the efforts of so many to see that Bible tracts made it from multiple sites in the United States to multiple sites in Africa.

Tracts were donated to the work in Cameroon and Cad from the following:

1. Mission Printing produced many English tracts for Cameroon and accepted material from the other donors to fill a 20-foot container to go to Cameroon and Chad.

 2. World Bible School donated material in English and French for Cameroon and Chad.

 3. French World Outreach donated material in French for Cameroon and Chad.

4. Gospel Tracts International donated materials in French for Cameroon and Chad.

5. Truth for Today donated material in French and Arabic for Cameroon and Chad.

We give a big shout out to all of those who are a part of each of these good works as we can see first-hand the results of your labor as we baptized into Christ those who read and study the work you have done.

It is not easy to see that things get where they are intended to go. Here is a little explanation of what all happened with this load.

1. Many volunteers and donors saw that the material was printed, collated, stapled, packaged and shipped to Mission Printing in Arlington, Texas.

2. The great leaders and workers at Mission Printing saw that all the material was received, labeled, and ready to be loaded on the container.

3. A shipping company was hired to come to Mission Printing with a container to be loaded with around 37,000 lbs of material by volunteers and then to be transported to the port in Texas.

4. Arrangements had been made for the container to be transported to Cameroon, accepted at the Cameroon by a port agent and then transported by truck to Wotutu, Cameroon.

5. A paid crew and some volunteers offloaded the entire container in at the BVBIC campus and separated it into stacks that were to stay be distributed from Wotutu, from Mbanga, and from Moundou Chad.

6. A van was rented to transport the Mbanga tracts from Wotutu to the Mbanga campus.

7. Two vans were rented to transport the Chad tracts to Douala Cameroon to be loaded on a vehicle to be transported on to Chad.

8. Additional funds were used to have the Chad tracts transported from the drop off point in Chad to the BVBI Moundou Chad campus.

9. The tracts will then be distributed throughout the two countries via the three Bear Valley campuses.

Classroom work:- we are seriously concentrating on class room teaching. We are thankful to BVBI coordinator for providing WVBS material, from this material we have presented these following lessons:

Zoom class:- we have completed books of second Peter, first John and second John

Assignment work:- All the students are cooperating well in writing their assignments . We collect the notebooks and evaluate their work from time to time.

Students involvement in the local church:-  BVBI students are actively involve in the local church activities.

Gospel campaigning :- In the month of March gospel meeting was conducted in the Gudali-Village. Vidyanagar Church youth class and members have sponsored the meeting expenses.

Village meeting:- We have visited Sreeramapuram-village on March 6th. Conducted house meeting at Mr. Gopinath father in law’s house. The village people were able to meet at their house for the meeting. I presented my lesson from Luke 12:13-21 concerning the, foolish rich man. People were able to understand that having richness is not curse but trusting treasure is wrong attitude .

Home bible studies: - We continually organizing home bible studies , this is wonderful tool for the lost souls to be converted.

Baptisms:- one of the preacher  Mr. Abraham and his brother Gabriel who were able to attend for Mr. Keith Kasarjian (eldership class) have baptized 12 souls at kalathuru-village.

Last week Saturday I baptized one sister. Please keep this newly baptized sister in prayers so that she may grow in the image of Jesus christ.

Benevolence: -

Feeding Hunger:-

By the contribution of local church members we have conducted feed the hunger program at tribal colony at Kokkupadu coastal village, given food for 50 tribal children.

Widows support:-  by the local church contributed 30 widows received support for their basic needs.

Service for the blind people:- One family  Mr. Jesudoass and sister .Ester in our local church are able to dedicate to cook and service food for the blind people daily and feeding them.

Medical help for sister .Lathamma:- local church is able to provide Rs.5000 medical support to sister.Lathamma as she had accident while she was travelling in the motorbike .

Prayer Request:- Lord willing  on April 25th graduation ceremony will conduct a graduation for the 3rd batch of students. We humbly request your prayers for the grand success of the event. We thank you very much for your prayers , encouragement, and assistance for the smooth function of the Bible school. We sincerely appreciate your love and concern. Baptisms and restorations in Luanshya, Zambia

Introduction

We welcomed the month of March in a very high mood for both learning and practical work; our students are catching up with our standard of learning very well. We believe by His grace the second quarter will be of great benefit to our students in their learning. We also expected Brother Kennedy Mukuka and Donnie Estep for the short courses Evangelism 1 and scheme of Redemption of which by the grace of God came to pass.   

MORE SOULS WON FOR CHRIST

Every time we go to the place where there is much water for baptism. We are often reminded by Exodus 14 when the children of Israel crossed the Red sea into their new life and were taught never to go to their old life again. Our students did a great work in Luanshya, Kitwe and Mpongwe Districts respectively, they have just been a greatest source of encouragement to many Christians in three districts sharing the work of caring for others among Christians. In the same field our Alumni have done excellent work in Northern, Southern and Copper belt provinces.

 Our current student body started in Luanshya visiting local congregations and asking for absentees contacting them and noticing those needing some special attention. We just loved the program they called it Visitation but the work was more than it was called. Due to this program we discovered those who were suffering in silence, those who were lonely, as we labored it elevated the depressed and discovered desperate needs. The results that they have achieved speak for themselves. We are now receiving calls for such program to continue. 

MEETING THE YOUTHS PART 2 AT BVBI-Zambia

We continue to meet the youths in Luanshya district quarterly at our institute a development that has made the youths in Luanshya District in Churches of Christ very excited, we intend to make good strategies as we do evangelism by making the youths realize how useful they are in God’s vineyard. It was a one day workshop and our students and their fellow youths from three congregations in Luanshya interacted well on the same. We would like to see them all develop into the great leaders in the Church of the Lord. They live in a world where there are many temptations beckoning them to abandon the way of truth and righteousness, but on this day we had a combined prayer so that their  deliberate commitment and the wonderful grace of God can keep them focused on the importance of living a godly life.

We also had 4 youths from the neighborhood that were attracted with the same meeting at BVBI-Zambia. This meeting presented a good platform for our new students to interact with many youths from Churches of Christ in Luanshya district. 

On the same development we are planning to take our students in Central province in April this year in order to meet and interact with many youths in the Church as we teach and do evangelism for our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.  

COUNTRY COORDINATOR VISITED THE SITE PROPOSED FOR INSTITUTE

As we grow and expand in our mission to serve God this year, we had the opportunity to meet with our extention BVBI-International Director Keith and our country coordinator Donnie Estep both have visited our new site where we have bought and have intentions to build a School there.

The area is big enough for our extra activities such as Agricultural training for our students to acquire survival skills as they preach. Please we need your support in this area for our dream to be realized.

BAPTISMS 

We have recorded 5 additions to the church on the Copperbelt and seventeen (17) souls added to the sheepfold in three provinces namely Luapula we recorded 3, Northern we recorded 5 and Southern we recorded 9. This is where our former students have continued to labor for our master. Together we have a total number of twenty two

RESTORATIONS

We have also recorded a total number of thirty one (31) restorations; we have thirteen on the Copper belt, eleven from Southern part of Zambia, 4 from Luapula and lastly and not the least 3 from Northern Province.

Conclusion

May our God continue to bless all of you as you continue to express your love for Him through your support financially all for loving God. May He grant a special blessing to all of you today as you minister in His vineyard as the Bible records “how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Roman 10:14-15)

Courses Covered

The first quarter of the 2025 academic year began on Friday, January 3, 2025, and concluded on Saturday, March 29, 2025. During this period, the school successfully completed three key courses aimed at deepening students' understanding of important biblical topics:

• World Religions

• Homiletics II

• Wisdom Literature

Student Report

The first quarter of the 2025 academic year began on a strong and positive note, with students displaying great dedication and enthusiasm toward their studies. Attendance was very encouraging throughout January and February.

However, as the quarter progressed, there was a noticeable decline in attendance during March due to various factors, including work schedules and commitments to assignments from their congregations. While this decline was concerning, efforts were made to reach out to the affected students and encourage their return.

On average, class attendance stood at eight (8) students per session, reflecting a steady level of commitment despite the slight drop in numbers toward the end of the quarter. Beyond attendance, students demonstrated a high level of engagement through their contributions to discussions, their eagerness to ask insightful questions, and their overall participation in classroom activities.

House-to-House Evangelism Update

During the first quarter, there was no major evangelism event. However, individual students were sent to various community churches, including Gomoa Asebu-Pomadze, Awutu Breku Twiime, Santor Central, and North Atomic. After worship services, they joined these congregations in their house-to-house evangelism efforts, providing opportunities for both edification and outreach.

Unlike previous quarters, where flexibility was allowed, this time, students followed a structured rotation schedule, ensuring that all assigned communities received student support for worship and evangelism.

To enhance communication and accountability, students were required to report to me through our WhatsApp platform. This system allows them to submit reports on their visits, share testimonies, and provide feedback on their evangelistic encounters on the same day, rather than waiting until class time. This method has significantly improved coordination, enabling me to monitor progress and provide timely guidance as needed.

We thank God, three baptisms were recorded in the first quarter, one at Nmai Djorn-Accra East, one at Awutu Breku Twiime, and one at Santor Central. As we move forward, we continue to pray for greater impact, trusting that our efforts will bring more souls to Christ.

Church Planting Program for 2025

The church planting program is set to take place this year as part of our mission to expand the gospel and establish new congregations. This initiative is crucial in fulfilling the Great Commission, ensuring that more communities have access to sound biblical teaching and a place of worship.

Preparations for planting a new church are currently underway, including a final feasibility study to determine the most suitable locations. One key challenge is not just finding a student willing to lead but ensuring that the selected individual is truly committed to nurturing and growing the new congregation.

Final decisions regarding both the feasibility study and the selection of preachers or students will be concluded in the second quarter of the year. I have full confidence in God that, just as He has guided us in previous years, He will lead us through this year’s church planting efforts as well.

Major Event in the First Quarter

The major event of the quarter was the Bear Valley 7th Graduation Ceremony, held at Serperma Church of Christ. The students of Accra East Campus and I, participated in the ceremony.

Stephen Ashcraft’s Presentation – (International Coordinator & Gospel Minister)

Stephen Ashcraft (Min.), the International Coordinator, addressed the congregation. To our surprise, he expressed his gratitude in Akan, (Twi) Ghana’s widely spoken language, saying: "Meda ase, ɛyɛ paa," which means, "Thank you, it is very good."

This heartfelt gesture conveyed his appreciation for the invitation and his joy in being with us. The entire auditorium was filled with joy and amazement, as no one expected a white brother to speak Twi so fluently. This created a wonderful and uplifting atmosphere.

The Focus of His Presentation

Ashcraft admonished the students not to see their graduation merely as an academic achievement but as a divine calling.

He reminded them:

“You are here because we are sending you into the world to preach Christ, who was crucified. The world is perishing, and you are charged with taking this treasure—the gospel—to them. As Christ sacrificed Himself, you must also sacrifice yourselves so that others may come to Him. Your mission is to seek the lost and teach others to follow Christ. Beyond graduation, you have been commissioned to bring souls to Christ. You are charged to do the work of an evangelist. If you do this faithfully, you will receive the crown of life.” It was an inspiring message, and indeed, we were grateful.

Students’ Representatives Express Gratitude

After receiving their certificates and awards, the student representatives from the Diploma, Bachelor's, and Master’s degree programs expressed their gratitude to God and encouraged themselves and their fellow graduates to remain steadfast in their calling.

Bro. Ahenkora – Representative of the Diploma Students:

Brother Ahenkora stated that they consider it a great privilege to have been trained to carry the message of Christ to the world. They deeply appreciate the E-library provided by the school, which has greatly contributed to their academic and spiritual growth.

Bro. Emmanuel Ahorklo – Bachelor’s Degree Graduate:

He praised God for His divine protection and guidance throughout their studies. He also expressed gratitude to the faculty and management for their dedication and support.

He urged Ghanaian congregations to support the school, ensuring that future students can benefit from the training provided.

Bro. Fred Adams – Master’s Degree Graduate:

He expressed gratitude to God, the faculty, and the coordinator, Kojo Acquah-Beenyi (Min), and all the lecturers for their support. He emphasized that their academic pursuit was not just about intellectual growth but also spiritual development.

As they move forward, he pleaded for continued dedication to serving with integrity, purpose, and devotion to God’s work.

Guest Speaker: John Franklin Tamakloe (Min.)

Topic: How to Be a Good Minister

Evg. John Franklin Tamakloe, one of Ghana’s outstanding preachers, delivered his address based on 1 Timothy 4:16. He encouraged and inspired the students through his message: "You are to be a mirror image of Bear Valley." He emphasized the importance of understanding what Bear Valley Bible Institute stands for, as they are not only representatives of the institution but also bear a great responsibility in their ministry.

Key Points from His Address

·         Take heed of yourselves (1 Timothy 4:16): Live a life that reflects Christ and sets you apart.

·         Stay focused: Avoid distractions and remain fully committed to your ministry.

·         Set clear boundaries: Protect your faith and integrity through spiritual discipline.

·         Understand doctrine Hold to sound doctrine and distinguish truth from personal opinion.

·         Continue growing: Keep learning, studying and improving to lead others to salvation. (Philippians 4:9):

Conclusion

The first quarter of 2025 saw significant progress in both academics and evangelism. As we enter the second quarter, we remain dedicated to academic excellence, evangelistic outreach, and equipping students for ministry. We trust that the seeds sown will bear lasting fruit for the glory of God.

Studies continue in Koforidua, Ghana

BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE, KOFORIDUA

JANUARY – MARCH, 2025

INTRODUCTION

Thanks be to the Almighty father for seeing us through another quarter of studies in preparation to serve our Lord in His Vineyard.

STUDENTS

We have twelve continuing students, but some of them have already completed some of the courses. As a result attendance differs during courses.

CLASSES

As usual we have had three courses taught. Homiletics by Paul Larbi Young. The Gospel of John by Emmanuel Amoo Gyimah and Life of Christ II by wisdom Yirenkyi.

ACTIVITIES

The students will be going round to campaig in May. Our public preaching schedule is from 7th to 11th October, 2025. Preparations are being started by students as they go about preparing what they will be preaching.

CONCLUSION

We express our heartfelt gratitude to the Bear Valley Leadership and the Brotherhood for their steadfast guidance and generous financial support throughout the quarter. May God abundantly bless and reward you for your kindness and sacrifices.

Graduations and Baptisms in Ashtown, Ghana

BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE, ASH TOWN, KASOA

FIRST QUARTER, 2025 REPORT

INTRODUCTION

We give thanks to God for His steadfast love and guidance throughout the first quarter of 2025. This quarterly update showcases the key achievements and developments at Bear Valley Bible Institute, Ash town, from January to March 2025.

COURSES

During this quarter, we successfully delivered three courses. Specifically:

- Emmanuel Larbi led the sessions on Christian Leadership and Christian Ethics.

- Samuel Papa Woode instructed the Greek 2 course.

A total of 18 students participated in these courses, enriching their knowledge and skills.

CHURCH PLANTING

On January 19, 2025, our Director visited the church of Christ, located on Nyanyano Road, Kasoa. The purpose of the visit was to meet with the church leadership and discuss potential collaboration on planting a new church in Kojo Oku, Kasoa.

Initially, we had considered Kojo - Oku as a primary location for our church plant in 2023. However, after careful consideration, we identified potential future challenges. Interestingly, the Nyanyano Road church had also been exploring the possibility of planting a church in the same area.

The meeting with the leadership aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration and determine the best way forward. We are currently awaiting their response to proceed.

ACCRA GRADUATION CEREMONY

On February 15, 2025, our school community gathered at Sarpeiman, Accra, to celebrate the graduation ceremony of three students from the Papaase Campus, which has since merged with our Ash town school. These dedicated students successfully completed their Diploma of Biblical Studies from Bear Valley.

We rejoice with these graduates and pray that God will continue to guide and empower them as they embark on their journey as preachers. In the coming months, we plan to visit these graduates to see firsthand the impactful work they are doing in their respective congregations.

TAMALE GRADUATION CEREMONY

On February 17, 2025, our Director, accompanied by Assistant Coordinators Bro. Ebenezer Amoasi and John Acquah Andoh, traveled to Tamale to attend a graduation ceremony. This trip provided a valuable opportunity for the Director to connect with dedicated preachers who have devoted their lives to serving God.

The Director also gained insight into the graduation hosting traditions in Tamale, which proved to be a enriching experience. We express our gratitude to God for the successful graduation event and for our safe return.

UPDATE ON CHURCH OF CHRIST, ADOM ESTATE, KASOA

On March 2, 2025, our Director visited the church of Christ at Adom Estate, Kasoa, a congregation that our school and Ash town Congregation jointly planted. This visit was a follow-up on the church’s progress, as a previous visit had been missed last quarter.

During the visit, Bro. Kingsley, an alumnus and the church’s substantive preacher, led a Bible class on the topic of Evangelism. We were encouraged to see the congregation’s progress, including the installation of metal windows and electricity at their place of worship. These improvements have enabled them to hold evening prayers and Bible studies.

We continue to pray for God’s guidance and blessings upon this congregation, that they may grow spiritually and numerically.

BAPTISMS

We rejoice and give thanks to God for the remarkable fruit of our students’ evangelistic efforts this quarter! We celebrate the fifteen(15) baptisms that have taken place as a direct result of their dedication to sharing the Gospel. Their hard work and commitment have borne witness to the power of God’s word, and we welcome these new brothers and sisters into the kingdom of God.

CONCLUSION

We express our heartfelt gratitude to the Bear Valley Leadership and the Brotherhood for their steadfast guidance and generous financial support throughout the quarter. Your selfless contributions have been a tremendous blessing to us. May God abundantly bless and reward you for your kindness and sacrifices.

Exceptional month in Gweru, Zimbabwe

INTRODUCTION

March was an exceptional month. Twenty-five souls were converted. An exchange program with African School of Bible Missions took place. Classes progressed well. These and more are a testament to the school’s tenacity of keeping the great commission alive within the minds of every student. Progress was seen on the classroom and office block construction effort as well. These and more are found hereunder.

1.0 CURRICULUM PROGRESS

The following subjects were taught and completed; Theology of Missions, 1 & 2 Corinthians, Denominational Doctrines, Wisdom Literature, 1 -2 Peter and Jude, Christian Evaluation  of Contemporary Ethics, Entrepreneurship Skills Development and Sign language. Greek was another subject but it is still ongoing. Great appreciation to both the teachers and students for working together to make the term a success. Examinations were also written successfully.

2.0 EXCHANGE PROGRAM

In February 2024, African School of Bible Missions (ASBM) visited BVBIZ for an exchange program. The year 2025 was BVBIZ’s turn to return the favour. Students accompanied by two staff members, brothers Mutichu and Madyira travelled to Bulawayo for a three day exchange program beginning on the 13th to the 15th of March.  The following report by one of the students summarises what transpired;

The three-day exchange program was highlighted by a lecture on the Theology of Missions taught by ASBM Director and BVBIZ adjunct instructor bro. Nkosilathi Mpofu. After lunch, the lecture resumed, emphasizing biblical foundations for mission work. Later, the team camped at Nkulumane Church of Christ for a joint dinner and evening devotion, fostering fellowship between the two institutions.  Academic Engagement and Fellowship continued into the second day, which, as planned, began with morning devotions, followed by continued lectures on the Theology of Missions. A chapel session provided spiritual refreshment, after which academic discussions resumed. The day concluded with evening devotions and informal fellowship, deepening bonds between ASBM and BVBIZ students. 

The final day opened with devotions, after which students from both institutions undertook a combined examination on Theology of missions. A lively Bible quiz tested scriptural knowledge, followed by recreational games, including a tug-of-war and soccer. A closing chapel session and remarks by ASBM and BVBIZ leaders marked the end of the exchange. The BVBIZ team then departed: some returned to Plasworth, Gweru, while others proceeded to Plumtree for an eight-day evangelism campaign. 

3.0 CAMPAIGNS

On the 15th of March, the BVBIZ students formed two groups as they headed for an eight-day evangelism campaign. The first group composed of 9 students and two teachers went to Plumtree whilst the second group with six students headed back to Gweru. The following are the reports from the two centres;

3.1 PLUMTREE CAMPAIGN

The team to Plumtree arrived there on the 15th of March and was welcomed by Gogo Magare, a senior church member, who shared the congregation’s history and current challenges. An evening devotion was held on the arrival day and set the tone for the campaign. Evening services were held daily whilst a marriage seminar, as part of the evangelism tools, was held on Saturday afternoon. The team was joined by the school’s two past graduates brothers Ovius Kufa and Tapiwa Madamombe who have been very instrumental in providing an additional experience to the school’s students in several campaigns. The effort saw 9 souls being added to the church.

3.2 PLASWORTH CAMPAIGN

As the first batch of students were in Plumtree, the second batch composed of 6 students were stationed at Plasworth. Their activities were supervised by bro. M. Muchingami. During the week, devotions at Percy Ntini Secondary School were initiated. Evangelism was done in homes, to those working in fields, those herding cattle and to whoever had the ear to listen. The effort saw 16 souls being baptized. Almost all of these are attending services at Plasworth. Nurturing the souls of the new souls is being done.  

4.0  MAY 2026 INTAKE

BVBIZ will from APRIL begin the recruitment of potential students for the 2026-2028 intake. The school cannot take more than 15 students. Those wishing to join this intake are encouraged to apply in time to avoid missing this great opportunity. As per the norm, the following are the requirements;

5.0 CLASSROOM BLOCK UPDATE

Builders completed brickwork to the classroom and office block on the 20th of March. The next stage is the roof. The iron sheets are already on ground whilst a deposit has already been paid for timber. The roof shall exhaust all available funds for the project. More resources are going to be needed for the window frames, glazing, inside plastering, electrical wiring, plumping, painting and floors. Special appreciation to brother Chitendeni for donating 20 bags of cement and Mr Jeche, one of the community leaders for donating 2 bags of cement.  The Gonzo family gave $20 as well. Thank you all.  

6.0 DONNIE ESTEP VISIT

Donnie Estep, the regional director for Southern Africa arrived on the 30th of March for a four-day teaching mission.  He taught I and II Thessalonians. He interacted both with the students and teachers including appraising himself on the progress the school has made since his last visit. It is always a very encouraging visit to both the teachers and the students.

CONCLUSION

The month of March was filled with activities. Classes progressed well. Examinations were written successfully. Success was noted during the two evangelism campaigns that took place. Brickwork to the classroom and office block is now done. These and more could not have been possible without your partnership. May God continue to bless you all!

ACTIVITY OPERATION REPORT FOR FEBRUARY 2025

Full Time and the Extended (2) Programs 

INTRODUCTION

We bring you salutation from Kenema, Eastern Sierra Leone. We are thankful to God for keeping all of us alive till now to share with you the report of the work of the ministry here in Sierra Leone, our dear brethren and fellow laborers. As you read from our January report, we have started this year again with great successes. We are even hopeful that as the year unfolds, many good things will happen. In February, the school planted a new congregation, the classes continued uninterrupted, the graduates and the evangelistic teams on the field laboriously pressed on with the ministry of reconciliation.  Here is more information on the highlighted activities:

STUDENTS AND ACADEMIC UPDATES

It continues to excite us as our students are doing well academically, evangelistically as well as morally. Our full time and extended programs at the Kenema campus are expected to be completed by the end of January next year, Lord willing. Therefore, we are hoping to fix the graduation for the both sets of students by February or March next year, Lord willing. Our just established Freetown extension center is also thriving well, as we informed you in our last month’s report. The students are excitedly committed to their studies and as well as their congregational duties. We are thankful to God in all; we have nothing to complain about.

THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A NEW CONGREGATION BY THE KENEMA STUDENTS AT BENDUMA

Benduma town is about 50 miles away from Kenema. It is found in Jawei Chiefdom, Kailahun District, in the Eastern Region of Sierra Leone. It is a community dominated by Muslims,  Traditionalists and members of a denomination called, “The Church of the Nazarene.” Therefore, the school, as one of her major reasons for existence, engaged in a robust one week evangelism campaign in the Benduma community. The aim of the campaign was to plant a new congregation there.

How Did the School Get to Know about the Benduma Community?

The opportunity came about when during our December break, two of our students, Mohamed Koroma and Isaac Samawova, decided to go on mission work in that community instead of going home for holidays. These commendable efforts by Mohamed and Isaac opened the way for us. During their stay there, they converted two members who were from the Church of the Nazarene group. So seeing how the Lord was working through our brethren, the school launched a massive campaign there. 

The Result of the Campaign

From February 10 to 16, a group of 9 students, 5 staff and one member of the Kenema evangelism team stormed the Benduma community with the Good News which was already being preached by Isaac and Mohamed. During this time, tracts distribution, door-knocking and open-air preaching were all activated and at the end, 21 souls were added to the congregation of the Lord’s Church that was already begun by Mohamed and Isaac. Apart from those who were converted, there were many continuing studies that were begun, and hopefully, more conversions would be recorded as the follow-up continues.

While a lot of good things happened during this campaign, one predominant battle we will need to continue to fight at Benduma is to teach brethren to live moral upright lives. The Benduma community could be described as “Corinthiazomai” because of the community’s moral looseness. But we know that this is not only peculiar to Benduma; it is a global problem. Therefore, may we continue to pray for this new congregation to thrive and be heavenly focused!

MORE CONVERSION OF SOULS

Apart from the campaign, as you all know, the school has an evangelistic program where students and staff go out for evangelism every weekend. This outreach is directed to congregations within and outside Kenema. Therefore, as a result of this effort, the Lord added four (4) souls during the month of February 2025. Moreover, some of our graduates are not also relenting. For instance, some of our graduates in Kenema here went and evangelized a community school at Panguma. They distributed tracts to students and teachers alike. On their part, during the February period, five (5) souls were converted. The evangelistic teams on the other hand had fifteen (15) conversions.

CONCLUSION

When the year 2024 was ending and we reflected on what the Lord did for us in the ministry, we were excited and anticipated that 2025 is going to be even more fruitful. And it seems that it is already happening! May the good Lord take pre-eminence in all that we do! Thank you brethren, for your continued prayers and partnership!

Great Workshop in Nigeria

Beloved in Christ Jesus .

Greetings from the students and staff of BVBIN & SWSE-IBADAN and fellow WBSFUW in the Western States of Nigeria.

23RD ANNUAL LEADERSHIP SEMINAR: The 23rd Annual Leadership Seminar took place from February 4 to 6, 2025, at Chad Wagner’s Open Hall in Butu-London, Butubutu Village, Ibadan, Oyo State. The event was attended by 157 adults from nine states across Nigeria.

Brethren began arriving at BVBIN & SWSE-IBADAN on Sunday evening, and by 4:00 PM on Monday, the attendance had reached 66. Our guest speaker, Bro. Chad Wagner, joined us from Tuesday afternoon until Thursday evening to address key issues concerning the growth of the Lord’s Church in Nigeria, particularly in the western states.

A total of eleven gospel ministers participated in the seminar. The theme for this year’s gathering was "The Implementation of Ministerial Counseling in the Work of the Local Church."

Additionally, we were able to freely distribute:

1,670 copies of VOTI Volume 121

2,000 copies of the small Mission Printing songbook

15,000 copies of newly printed local tracts to the congregations represented.

END OF 2ND SEMESTER CLASSES AND UPCOMING SCHEDULE :The second semester officially conclude on February 7, 2025, after thirteen (13) weeks of classes. The third semester will last six (6) weeks, beginning on March 08, 2025, and ending on April 18, 2025.

Currently:

Year 1 students are engaged in vocational studies.

Year 2 students are on a preaching trip, ministering in congregations across the Western States of Nigeria.

Following the third semester, students will embark on their vocational studies and preaching trips as part of their practical ministerial training.

We appreciate your prayers and support as we continue to build up the Lord’s Church in Nigeria.

OUR TEAM WAS ATTACKED BY ARMED ROBBERS ON FEBRUARY 13,2025: Our WBS Team led by Bro. Eniafe Kayode was attacked by Armed Robbers on Thursday morning of February 13  in Osengere, Oyo State. The incident occurred at 6:30 am as they were en route to two private colleges in Ibadan for a World Bible School correspondence course enrollment during the colleges' Thursday morning devotion.

Unfortunately, the mission was disrupted, and one of our motorcycles was stolen. Bro. Eniafe Kayode was also physically assaulted before the robbers escaped with his motorcycle.

GREAT WORKSHOP 2025 HELD IN UKPAGADA, OGOJA, CROSS RIVER STATE, FROM FEBRUARY 18-22

We, the Ibadan team (Makinde Ebens, Eniafe Kayode, Oladokun Samuel, Amos Olusegun, and Adedoyin Rotimi), left Ibadan, Oyo State, at 4:12 pm on Monday to spend the night in a hotel near Sagamu Toll Gate, Ogun State.

On Tuesday morning, we joined the Lagos team at 7:12 am, and we arrived in Ukpagada, Ogoja, by 9:25 pm.

This year’s workshop focused on *Doing The Work (of Evangelism) Well*. The guest speaker, Bro. Chad Wagner, and the workshop director, Bro. Michael Udam, welcomed all the participants to the Ukpagada community in Ogoja, Cross River State, on Wednesday morning.

Some of the resource people included: Bro. Chad Wagner, Bro. Mike Udam, Bro. Samuel Okon, Bro. Tubobelem West, Bro. Usim Solomon, Bro. Joe Obinna, Bro. Mike Cochrane, Bro. Biodun Owolabi, among others.

The lectures were held daily between 9:00 am and 8:00 pm.

Day 2 of the workshop was dedicated to house-to-house evangelism within Ogoja town.

The program officially ended on Friday evening .

This year’s workshop was attended by over 800 participants from more than 20 states in Nigeria, with eleven attendees from Cameroon and Liberia.

Four thousand (4,000) copies of VOTI Volume 121, two thousand (2,000) copies of the small Mission Printing songbook, and many other materials, along with the Bible, were freely distributed during the three days of spiritual fellowship by the director of the program, Bro. Michael Udam.

 Bro. Chad Wagner declared the seminar closed at 5:18 pm on Friday.

Lord willing, next year’s workshop will be held in Benin City, Edo State.

REPORT OF FOUR-WEEK STUDENTS' PREACHING TRIP/VOCATIONAL STUDIES : The BVBIN & SWSE-Ibadan students embarked on a four-week preaching trip/vocational studies from February 7, with an expected return date of March 10, ahead of the 3rd Semester classes.

The trip has yielded fruitful results, with: 13 conversions and 26 restorations.

Notably, on February 16, the students serving in Butu-London and its environs witnessed five souls added to the kingdom after the morning worship. The students from the Northern part (Kebbi and Benue States) have demonstrated remarkable commitment to soul-winning.

Interestingly, most of our conversions in January and February 2025 in Butu-London and its environs have been from the Northern region, while the restorations have been among Yoruba-speaking brethren.

To God be the glory and honor! We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to all partners and supporters.

ABOUT A STUDENT:

Bro. Itie-Ubong Okon Udo is one of our present year two students. He is from Ikot Ubam Ukwok, Ini L.G.A, Akwa-Ibom State. Born on February 3 ,2006. Converted in February 14, 2021 at The Church of Christ, Odoro Ukwok, Ini Local Government Area of Akwa-Ibom State.

Admitted into the Ministerial Department of BVBIN & SWSE-IBADAN in August 2023.

His mission of coming here is to be well equipped with the Word of God so as to be able to defend the faith and sound evangelist in the future.

He is presently studying fashion designer as his vocational studies.

Students Preaching in Trinidad

Greetings from Trinidad

During the month of February the TSOP students worked at a nearby congregation. They conducted services each Sunday. Additionally, they attended a full roster of classes.

One of them submitted the following report of their activities at the congregation.

TSOP Class of 2024 has been charged with a mission to assist the congregation of Williamsville. So far, we have been there almost every Sunday for worship, and leading in worship for five (5) weeks beginning from February the 2nd. Brother Chad Glean was put in charge of this effort, and he opened with an encouraging and inspirational sermon. After this, we decided to have a theme, the acronym F.A.M.I.L.Y. The “F” stands for faith. Our speaker for the second week was Bro. Anthony, who preached on Hebrews 11, and after worship, we were invited for a delectable lunch by Brother Denver, Sister Nicole, and their family. In the third week Bro. Micah preached on James 2, and in the fourth week, the group worshiped with the congregation at Rancho while Brother Timotheus accompanied Bro. Dominic to Williamsville. We did not go the week after that because of camp. In the fifth week, with the “A” in “F.A.M.I.L.Y.” being “accepting,” Brother Timotheus preached and brought along as visitors four (4) of his secondary school classmates. So far, our work has been quite enjoyable, the brethren have been encouraging, and we hope to continue in our mission being guided by God.

Pray for these young men as they continue to be of service to the surrounding communities.

Saving Souls in Malawi

Hello everyone!

It was a very long holiday but now we are busy again. We started our classes this year on the 3rd of February. We are excited to see new students in the campus and their zeal has already proved the real reason why they are here!

Evangelism 

It is always amazing to hear from the former students and the work they are doing in their home congregations. This time we have had news from Tikuferanji Chonde, David Sichinga and also not forgetting Saliwa Nkosi. These men have reported 18 baptisms in this month of February and also 3 souls restored! 

Prayer Request!

We would like to ask the brethren to pray for our country,  we have had a long period without rains and the hunger is likely to hit Malawi this year onwards. Because of this we have missed some students who were supposed to come but the late coming of rains has made them fail.

We are also having elections in September, this year, pray for peace among our politicians because without peace in the land gospel cannot be preached. We need free and fair elections.  So God help us!

The month of February has come and gone. We are grateful to God Almighty for his abundant grace and mercy. We are also thankful to the great Bear Valley family for their constant support. From the foregoing, as gleaned from the timetable for next month’s examination. The above courses were taught. There was no space to accommodate the course on Godhead as an independent course. The course is merged with Denominational Doctrines. There is the existence of English, Literature in English, Practicum and Igbo language and so on.

HOSTEL

The student hostel needs careful attention. The hostel has capacity but would need tiling, window work, plastering and painting of some parts. There is a need to gather the iron bed frames and fix them and direct the students on how to use them properly. Cleanliness is next to godliness. The foregoing idea must be instilled in the students.

 EVANGELISM

The nature of student evangelism as I have observed it is different. They usually go weekends and preach on Sunday mornings in either their home congregation or somewhere else. Moreover, the students are invited by different congregations on invitation. Sometimes, they are invited during class days. Thus, for the month of February the report is as exemplified by one of the students’ reports.

“In the following programmes, events and meetings, aside from normal routine, I participated fully during every church service. On Sunday, second of February, 2025. I handled sermons using the topic “WORK CHOP” text was 2 Thess 3:10 at Nenu church of Christ, a topic that thrilled hundreds of people and moved over 98% into positive action. Moreover, on the 16th of February, I presented a sober reflecting mild speech on the topic “purify thy heart” during Lord’s Supper.”

This is the way and manner of the evangelism for now. We hope that this will change in the near future. Subsequently, the students will embark on weekend evangelism. They will go to one village and establish studies. This will continue through the semester. It is believed that this method would help the students improve in their ability to conduct studies and manage prospects relationships. Door-to-door evangelism is key.

PROGRAMMES IN THE SCHOOL

GRADUATION / LECTURESHIP

The 12th and 13th of February saw the influx of many brethren into NIATS. The theme of the lectureship was, “Repositioning the Church for the Contemporary Challenges.” Series of paper presentations were made and brethren were duly edified. The 14th of February was the culmination of the programme. About 16 students graduated. It was a great reunion as many brethren trooped in for the first time in a long time. It is hoped that next year will be even better.

NAITS SISTERS’ LECTURESHIP

The sisters from the congregations around Southeastern Nigeria and beyond usually have their annual lectureship every 27 to 1st of March. Theme of the lectureship was “Our Potential, Our Divine Purpose.” The lectureship was well attended and the record was about a thousand in attendance. On Friday, the 28th of February, we had about 8 baptisms while on the 1st of March we had 19 baptisms. There were a total of 27 baptisms. It was a rewarding experience and the participants were excited about the new looks of NIATS and hope to see more improvement the next time they visit.

PART-TIME TEACHERS

It is interesting that the director of the school lives on campus. The presence of the Director and the Dean of Students have further added security to the students and serves as an encouragement to them.

3.  Number of Campaigns: None.

4.  Number of Baptisms: 27 baptisms.

6.  Number of any Churches Restored: None.

7.  Number of Teachers: Eight (8)

8.  Number of Restorations: None.

CONCLUSION

The journey is still long but there is hope. Next week is the week of examination, we pray that God will be with the students all the way. Gratitude goes to the international director of Bear Valley Bible Institute, Keith Kasarjian for all the support. Multi-Tasking in Malawi

Multi-Tasking at its Peak

It’s not a good idea to do African construction projects while directing a preaching school, and we have done everything possible to avoid it.  However, when a family came along whose influence would be needed on campus and who prayerfully could fill our shoes some day, we compromised and have been in overdrive for the past seven months.

Since we returned from furlough in July, Dale has been back in construction while traveling to interview students, painting and preparing everything for their arrival, and then starting a new school year with very few teachers at first.  He makes the juggling act look easy although it takes its toll on him.

A Time and a Place for Everything

Being first-time directors of the men’s and women’s programs respectively, first-time teachers testing out the new curriculum, first-time hosts of guest teachers while we were also still teaching, and with every event (i.e. marriage class, puppet show, etc.) being created as we went along, there wasn’t time for setting up organizational systems.  We just had to get a job done and move to the next one.

Only after the first class graduated and we began teaching repeat classes could the door open to take on some of the much-needed administrative jobs of sorting, filing, consolidating, and organizing.  With the students on break for two weeks, Leann tackled the resource room.  

This part of the room contains office supplies, notebooks and pens the students are provided at the beginning of each class. Some tubs contain spiral-bound books printed onsite which can now be given as supplementary materials to the curriculum Bear Valley has supplied for the men’s program.  Each tub is labeled with the name of a class the school offers for ease of reference and use.  

We will continue to outfit this room with everything needed for the women’s program as well.  Smaller tubs will be purchased for each class so that the school will have a printed set of notes and handouts as well as any visual aids previously used to teach those classes. 

Take a Deep Breath

Many things can happen when the students leave on break so much so that life here isn’t expected the next day.  When Malawians pray, they often thank God for giving them that new day because they know there are others who have not lived to see it.

Even though sometimes we don’t even realize it, we are internally holding our breath that everyone will be able to return and continue with the program.  Once the last student arrives, we feel the tension we were holding (if we had not already) as we release it and can finally take a deep breath.  Thanks for your prayers as the students traveled, and we thank God for their safe return.  

The women are studying “Make Me a Servant” for eight weeks.  The men have a new class every week.  Last month they dove into the Old Testament books of Exodus and Deuteronomy as well as the New Testament books:  Mark and I Corinthians.

Reporting Letter for the month of February-2025

Dear brothers in Christ greetings to you in the name of Jesus Christ. We thank you for your prayers and all your efforts for the establishment of Bear Valley Bible Institute in Vidyanagar, Andhra Pradesh-state , India.  Our BVBI-extension centre is committed to equipping preachers and church leaders in rural areas with sound biblical knowledge and practical ministry skills. Our Bible school initiatives in villages focus on training local evangelists, strengthening churches and spreading first century Christianity. We have given admission for the untrained preachers who are already in the field.  BVBI-classes are much useful for their field work.  These are following activities they are doing in the rural congregations.

Home Bible studies:- Home Bible study is essential in the rural areas where churches and trained preachers are scarce .It strengthens faith, building community and encourages involvement in God’s word. By fostering discipleship and evangelism, it helps sustain Christian growth and provides moral guidance. Ultimately , it ensures that even remote areas have access to spiritual nourishment and biblical teachings.

Besides home Bible studies they conduct children classes, youth meetings, street gospel meetings, personal Bible studies. Each student adopted 10 villages and continually visiting two villages per day. They attend for the week end bible training and growing in the knowledge of NT teaching.

Visiting teachers in Uganda

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ who according to his will has blessed us to have another chance of still living. 

I bring you the joy of students at Bear valley Uganda and the entire staff.

The month of February ended well while everyone was in good health, from the students to teachers and to all the support staff with only the daughters of our administrator having malaria but our God is so good they are now fine.

The school recorded achievements beginning from having our short course teachers who came and did a great job teaching students. 

Brother Jerry was able to arrive on 8th and taught until the end of the week. He was able to board on 15th leaving for Zimbabwe. Thank you brother for having withstood all the heat that is here these days, may the Almighty bless you and your efforts.

On the same date of brother Jerry leaving, we were able to welcome two other brothers who had also come for the same issue of teaching, brother David and brother Garry. We thank you for your time here and all the sharing we had with you and all the students.

We are happy to report that Bear Valley Uganda is having an e-library now. with the help of brother Steven through his guidance on how to install it, brother David worked hard to see that we have this functioning. This is a very nice and tremendous tool that is going to uplift the standards of our students.
