Students. One half of the quarter’s work was completed and the students left on December 17 to their respective congregations and towns for the end of year vacation. There they will be engaged in various local programs.
Teachers. The teachers responded to several invitations to help and teach.
December 4, Daniel was the main speaker at a lectureship held at Hotopo for some 8 churches in the area. Two lessons were presented on Worship and Not Forsaking the Assembly. More than 300 were in attendance.
December 10, Charles Arthur, Joshua Aidoo, and Daniel Ampadu-Asiamah presented lessons at a lectureship organized by the Nsuakyi congregation near Fosu in the Central Region.
December 11, Daniel attended the thanksgiving service of churches of Christ in Ghana held in Kumasi. From August of 2011, various events, seminars and lectureships were held to mark the 50th year of the church in Ghana. The climax was the thanksgiving service which was held in Kumasi and Accra simultaneously. At the Kumasi service it was announced that the Bomso church in Kumasi has awarded brother Samuel Obeng and Daniel a trip to the Holy Land in June 2012, in appreciation of their work in the church in Ghana over the years. There were about eleven thousand members in attendance in the Kumasi service and some fifteen thousand attended the Accra service.
December 19-24, the church at Egyam conducted a week-long open-air preaching. Joshua was among the preachers.
December 25, Arthur and Daniel honoured an invitation to teach and preach at the dedication service of the new church building at Egyam. Later that day, Joshua and Daniel conducted the induction service for Effiakuma church’s new preacher, Charles Mensah.
December 30, 2011 - January 1, 2012, Daniel went to Berekum and Wenchi in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana to teach in a yearly church growth workshop in which he has been involved for the past five years. At the concluding worship at Wenchi, in which Daniel preached the sermon, 5 precious souls responded to the invitation and were baptized.
January 2, 2012, the Bomso, Kumasi church conducted their annual New Year School at which issues and matters of interest in the church in Ghana are discussed. Daniel was one of four men invited to sit on the discussion panel.
January 8, 2012, Daniel was the Guest Speaker at a send-off ceremony for Kojo Acquah Beenyi, the local preacher for the Chapel Hill church in Cape Coast, Central Region, who was leaving for Swedru after 10 years of work with the church.
Classes will be back in session at West Coast January 16, 2012, after the end of year vacation. We have one half of the second quarter’s study to complete.
