God still works in hard times

Dear brothers and sisters,

In my report today I would like to show how God works through the difficult times. Sometimes we don't know what to expect tomorrow but still we can completely trust God and His love. The studies continue in the Bible Institute. Thank God we have Internet and we can do everything on-line. Of course, it's no substitute for the real fellowship but we have this good opportunity to work distantly during the war times. Last month our Instructors were Denton Landonfor the Genesis and Dmitro Galyuk for Exodus -
Deuteronomy. Also the Masters' Program was resumed in December after the long break.

The last time we had the program it was during the pre-quarantine time in the whole world. We have a group of 6 students-preachers. Almost all of them are the graduates of the Bear Valley Bible Institute who now serve as Ministers in different congregations (Uzhgorod, Bela Tserkva, Poltava, Chernivtsy, Brovary). Currently they are taking the course called Introduction to Research Papers Writing.

During November and December we had a few baptisms initiated by our Instructors and graduates. One of them took place in Warsaw. Our Instructor Vladimir Paziy who is currently in Poland had studied with a man and recently baptized him for the remissions of his sins. There was one more baptism in Chernivtsy.

As I've written before my family and I are currently in Germany and we are trying to stay useful to the local congregation. Every Sunday after the services we invite and get together with some Ukrainian refugees for fellowship, tea party, time of crafts and tell them about the Church and Jesus Christ. We have had a few of such meetings by now and there are some regular visitors. We are grateful to Amerikraine fund for this ministry and the opportunity to help people out. And I'd like to thank all sponsors who work constantly towards the goal of keeping the ministry of the Bear Valley Bible Institute in Ukraine and training the preachers. At the present time we are working on the schedule for the next school year. If some of our American brethren like to teach a course we'd really like that. Please send me a personal message and we will discuss details. May God keep you,

Your brother,

Dennis Sopelnik

Lesotho staff and students train young people to evangelize

December was a blessed month, 13 students have obeyed the gospel through baptism. I organized youth camps in December and they were successful.

I organized the first youth camp that was held at New Millenium School from the 22nd of December to the 27th of December. 70 youth attended this first conference. The second was held at Maseru church of Christ from the 24th of December to the 26th of December. 52 young people attended the second youth camp.  The main aim was to teach these young people to be intentional in sharing the gospel with their peers.  Without a doubt, the youths were equipped and trained to maximize their God-given potential to become intentional in winning the lost.

I also invited Bright from Zambia who is currently working with the Gospel Chariot to assist me in training the students and youth on how to share the gospel with others. This was his second time to come and equip students with simple tools to share the gospel in 2023. These tools for evangelism have helped the students to be evangelistic and as a result, more souls have been saved in 2023. A total of 63 souls have been saved in 2023. This is the highest number of baptisms in a year that the school has recorded since its establishment in 2019. I strongly recommend that other schools in different countries adopt these evangelism tools in their curriculum. The results are tremendous when these evangelism tools are implemented. It is my prayer that 2024 will be a blessed year with more evangelism and discipleship.

There is a lot of work to be done in Lesotho. I see Lesotho as a virgin land for the gospel. The country has 10 districts of which the church of Christ is only in the 3 districts. My long-term goal and desire is to see that each district has at least a congregation. Therefore, there is a great need to produce preachers who will be working in those established congregations.

In December 13 souls were baptized. What a good number to end the year with. Thank you for partnering with us to train preachers in Lesotho.

May God bless you in 2024. I pray that 2024 will be a year of evangelism, discipleship, and church multiplication.

Your brother

Tawanda Mwadiya, a Zimbabwean missionary in Lesotho.

Evangelism in Ghana

OPERATIONAL REPORT FOR NOVEMBER, 2023

 CLASSROOM WORK

The full-time students brought the courses for the academic year to an end. This is the 3rd term of the academic year. The students were taught six (6) main courses this term though they are yet to study short courses. The courses for the term were wisdom literature, intertestamental period, book of Romans, prison epistles and worship. The last week of the month was used as a revision week, where the students studied on their own in preparation for the end of term examination.

Examinations will be conducted in December, after which there will be two-week short term courses before school vacates.

The part-time students continued their studies in the month of November. Joshua Aidoo concluded his course on logic and the Bible. Douglas Armah started teaching congregational development in the month.

PERSONAL EVANGELISM AND BAPTISM

The school embarked on the termly campaign for Christ at a village called Manso. The local congregation solicited the help of the school to spread the gospel in the township. On Monday, 20th November, the car took off from the school’s premises for the village. We were about 24 in number, comprising of current students, instructors, cooks, and past students.

Though the road network to the place was very bad, by the grace of God we got there successfully around 3:30 p.m.

The message was propagated throughout the town and it was well received by many. The problem we had there as is also the case in many of the villages is co-habitation of men and women without being married.

Altogether, it was a successful week, because many got to hear the truth from the scriptures. We were blessed with four (4) baptisms.

Our return journey took place on Saturday, around 12p.m and we got back to campus in the evening of 25th of November.

There were other evangelistic efforts by current and past students throughout the month of November.

Baptism in Mombasa, Kenya

Dear brethren,

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ. We hope that the Lord has truly been good to you all. it is indeed our pleasure to write to you again, believing that the Lord has guided you all until this time.

The school is fine and the students have been doing well throughout the year, increasing their knowledge in every session. We thank God for taking us through the year since January until this time, Glory to God!

Lessons taught this quarter are Old Testament Survey, Bible Geography and Denominational Doctrines. We're glad that the lessons are making a great impact on the lives of the students. We pray that they may continue in this course and make an impact on the communities as they also do in their local congregations. Our next quarter will begin on January 6th, 2024 - being the first Saturday of year four.

This quarter, we've had one baptism when Jacinta Mwende gave her life to Christ, and we rejoice with the soul that has been added to the Lord's Church - thanks to the students' evangelism effort. Currently we have 8 students, but we're going to add more next year to replace those who have dropped along the way.

Now we're letting the students break for the December holidays to allow those who will be travelling to various parts of the country to do so. We pray that God may keep all students and their teachers safe and sound during this festive season till we come together again in January, God willing.

We're praying for everyone who supports the work here, both materially as well as in in prayers. May the Lord bless you all. Have a blessed end year holidays as well as a happy and prosperous New Year.

Continue keeping the work here in your prayers.

Thank you, and God bless you all.

Yours in Christ,

Francis and Paul.

December 29, 2023

INTRODUCTION

All churches of Christ of Kara (north of Togo) join me and my family to send you all the congratulations,  encouragements and greetings for your great desire and love to keep helping us through this Bible School to strengthen the spiritual capacity of the brothers to better help these local churches to achieve the goals of the Great Commission. We continue to pray for you so that we all have the courage to continue working together to reduce the  kingdom of satan  by the conversion of the souls. In this overall vision to reduce the kingdom of satan, our Lord will always be with us for good results in the future.

So, we take advantage of this opportunity to send you our best wishes and happy new year 2024. Much courage, wisdom and knowledge and good health for the new year 2024.

OPERATING  REPORT

1-      The current number of students : 09 (8 for regular time and 1 outside time)

2-      The courses already taught the third quarter

a-      General episties by TALAKI  Nicodeme

b-      Galatians to 2Thessalonicians by KPELEVI  David

c-       The worship of the New Testament by Fidele

3-      The courses that will be taught during the first quarter 2024 :

a-      Isaiah, great prophet  by KAGNON  Luc

b-      Major Cult by TALAKI Nicodeme

c-        1 Corinthians by Fidele

4-      Instructors’ meeting :   Teachers discussed how to use students to effectively help local churches to grow spiritually and digitally. The different programs involved these students to help them have some experience to better lead local churches. They also discussed the methods to use to help students in research to better preach and teach. They have also made a decision to continue to encourage these students individually to the end.  They finally recognized that this Biblical School is a force for the achievement of the Great Mission objectives.

 5-      Congregational Activities :

a-      Worship and edification :

We really started with the other evangelists to lay the foundations of the church. We have set up a work plan on all local churches. At first a specific teaching on the disciple life in his community has been taught according to a program defined on all local churches. Given the unity that is reacted among the evangelists, there is a glow of hope that binds to the face of the faithful. Some faithful encouraged us to continue in this unit and this will have a positive impact in the lives of the faithful and a good way to restore some faithful who were disappointed by the division among  the evangelists in the past by one of the evangelists who has returned yet  back to Lome.

We noted for now that these new local evangelists have a real   desire to work for Christ as servants engaged for saved souls for Christ. With this organization of overall work on local churches, we have been able to baptized a total of 17 people from October to December 2023 ( 3 baptized in Lama ; 01 in Soumdina Powayi ; 02 in Kara University : 10 young people in Sandate and 1 person in Lassa Lao).

With this new momentum in the work for the conversion of souls, there is hope to grow digitally and spiritually these already implanted churches and those that will be implanted in the future. We find that this evolution is slow but with insurance despite the pletorrous number of the denominations that are well organized and that we are challenging.

b-      Door to door evangelism : The program is developed with other evangelists to help local churches in their digital growth and also establish other new congregations. This work helped us to have Lassa Lao new congregation. By this work we have been able to baptize 17 souls. We will intensify this door to door work in the coming days.

c-       Seminars : We had organized the Leaders of the churches leading them to be dynamic and very vigilant to fight the false doctrine. We also could show the need that every local church can implant a new church.

d-      Practical work with students : To help our students do this more evangelization work, we worked in Kara University locality. In the end we had to baptize two (2) women. Thus we are realizing the importance of a Biblical Training Institute. If we continue to multiply together our efforts to amplify our strengths and extend even the actions of this school, the converts will still be many in the future. The existence of a Biblical Training Institute helps much in the conversion of souls.

e-      Denominational program : We were able to put a small group of biblical studies at the moment with a few Leaders of denominations. They are 4 Leaders. They come from different localities. We thank God who helped us to baptize two (2) of them who already propose to be on the list of future students of Bear Valley Bible Institute. We continue to do our best to find many denominational Leaders to enlarge the group.

We also started studying with a denominational church we want to convert for Christ. We want you to pray for this denominational church who does not want to discipline itself for this program.

f-       Annual camp : This camp brings all the members of all local churches in one locality for spiritual teaching to help each member to grow spiritually. It is also the opportunity to organize spiritual concerts where all local churches will sing one another and this helps us to choose the best singers. It is also the opportunity to organize biblical games with price at the end. This annual camp was a total success and each  returned home in the joy of being spiritually blessed. The general topic was : « Does the Church of Christ be a sect ? ». We have done this Camp in Soumdina Powayi up December 24 to 26, 2023.

This year we had the opportunity to celebrate the wedding of the new local Preacher Kpelevi. We had to share pleasant moments. Participants during this camp are nearly 114 people.

6-      Radio Program : It is a very effective way to preach the gospel to other surrounding communities. With the arrival of these other evangelists we are more effective for this radio program. We continue to meet some who agree with the appointments. We preach every Friday from 15 O’clock pm to 16 O’clock pm on Radio « Kozah Fm ».

7-      Upcoming Program : We will have a busy program

a-      January 2024 :

-          Campaign in Tchitchao Kigbeleng

-          Campaign Dapaong area

-          Campaign in Soumdina Powayi

-          Training « Reading  and Speaking kabiye » program

b-      February 2024 :

-          Campaign in Samala

-          Campaign in Sandate

-          Campaign in Soumdina Haut

-          Training « Reading and Speaking kabiye   » program

c-       March 2024 :

-          Campaign in Tchoou

-          Campaign in Tatale area

-          Campaign in Lassa Lao

-          Campaign in Soumdina Pida

-          Training « Reading and Speaking kabiye » program

We need your prayers for all those programs.

 In Christ,

Fidele

New congregations planted in Cameroon

We bring greetings from the Bear Valley campus in Mbanga Balong where the campus church of Christ do worship. The staff and students sends their greetings and also the congregation that meets at Mbanga Balong. Happy new year in advance, and also sincere greetings from my family, I pray the Lord sees us through these last few days remaining to end this year.

It is a great thing to report again about our mission work in the school and our activities in the campus.

Evangelism is our mission and our mission is evangelism. We do not relent our efforts with our weekend evangelism both in and around Mbanga and also out of the community of Mbanga. Congregational work is also ongoing, The church in Mbanga is also doing great spiritually, growing in number also and even in administrational measures. We have  been able to have different ministries in our congregation in charge of various domain such as evangelism, benevolence, organization, hospital etc just to name these few. Even though we still have financial difficulty, we have in mind to realize some need of our community such as hospital visits and even to touch the lives of some widows in the congregation and in our nearby environment. We beg on all to Pray and support the church in Mbanga for this work of the church to be realized.

For the very first time that we experience over flood in our local campus due to too much rain fall and water table rising up to the point were some houses were affected right inside their sleeping rooms. Water was everywhere and our walls are still been affected till now.

Because the water table rose up, our borehole was also affected due to the fact that the pit toilet also came up to the same level as the the wells or borehole. This needed serious intervention in order  to free the students and those who benefits from it also from our community. We did change some filters and treated all the water with white stones, chlorine, salt and some other elements.

Emerald complex is making great progress. Parents and the community now begin to see and feel the presence of Emerald schools in their community. We do chapel and devotional 3 times a week at 11 AM in the presence of both the staff and the students. This time around it was in the presence of the parents also. And it at the end of term occasion in our amphi open air. We pray that some day we should be able to have a hall that can contain a good number of people for chapelsIt is so great to speak out the word through Emerald bilingual complex.

Our short course went on well very well with the help of bro Rufus and Arouna with the students and the wives of the students. It was great to have these men doing the Christian evidence for the students and evangelistic woman for the wives of the students.

We went immediately to the annual gospel lectuship after the short course. And the 2023 edition was in douala in cite de la paix.

Our way to mission trip also followed immediately and our students left for various areas for a serious two or three weeks campaign. Tracts were distributed to all including those who were going to the north and to our newly created assemblies

Two new congregations were established in Kribi and Buaka.

The field is vast and our laboures are few. We are hitting the hinterlands and the town ship.

Happy new year in advance

In Christian love,

ITITI BENEDICT

Graduation in Malawi

Hello Everyone!

The graduation ceremony was a success!  Fourteen individuals received certificates acknowledging their attendance and numerous hours of effort at the school.

Everyone has returned to their home villages.  The campus remains with 8 people (as it was before the 40+ people arrived in October, 2022).

We have a special prayer request.  One of the children, who is less than 2 years old, is very, very sick.  Notification was sent last night, and we read the message this morning.  All day we have been trying to get a call to go through so that we can find out more.  Please pray for this little guy!

Love,
Dale, Leann & Alyssa Kastner

Big goals for 2024 in Guinea

Greetings from Bear Valley of Gueckedou, Guinea.

Please keep read our annual report for 2023.

Introduction

This report covers all the activities carried out by  Bear Valley Institute of Gueckedou, Guinea, which operates mainly in the southern Guinean Forest region. This region includes seven (7) prefectures: Kissidougou, Gueckedou, Macenta, N'Zerekore, Lola, Yomou and Beyla. For this year 2023, the bulk of our activities have been focused on the prefecture of Gueckedou.

The Prefecture of Gueckedou is located in south-eastern Guinean Forest region, with a total surface area of 440,000 ha or 4,400 km². Founded by the Kissi ethnic group, its population was estimated at 310,602 in 2014. It comprises 10 Communes or municipality (Bolodou, Fangamadou, Gueckedou-centre, Guendembou, Kassadou, Koundou, Nongoa, Ouende-Kenema, Tekoulo, Temessadou Djibo).

According to our analysis, this Kissi community is very receptive to the Gospel.

This report presents the activities carried out by Bear Valley Institute in Gueckedou, Guinea during the 12 months of 2023. It is structured in four main parts: the first presents the Institute in general, covering its goal, vision, mission, and motto, while the second looks back on the Institute's essential activities by theme: training, evangelism, planting new congregations, the third summarize the prospects for the next 12 months and fourth the report's conclusion.

I-Presentation of the Bear Valle Institute of Gueckedou, Guinea

Bear Valley Bible Institute of Gueckedou, Guinea is a religious organization, created on February 25, 2018 at Gueckedou, Republic of Guinea following the collaboration of Steven Ashcraft, Francis S Musa and the brothers of the church of Christ

Born in the context of Bear Valley International's extension in Guinea precisely in Gueckedou.

Our: goal is to promote Bible teaching for Christians in Guinea.

Mission is to contribute to the improvement of the biblical knowledge of Christians in Guinea so that they are able to fill leadership positions in the Church.

Vision is to extend Christian teaching activities to the national level.

Motto is found in 2 Timothy 2:2

And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to faithful men who are able to teach others also (2 Tim. 2:2 LSG).

II-Overview of  Activities

This report provides an overview of all the activities carried out by the Bear Valley Institute in Gueckedou, Guinea, in collaboration with Bear Valley International and its technical and financial partnership during the year 2023. The activities focused mainly on the training of evangelists, evangelism, planting of new congregations...

Our objectives are to seek ways and means, strategies, appropriate and necessary support for the promotion of the integrated and sustainable development of the Church of Christ in Guinea through :

- The training of evangelists or preachers for two years full-time from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday with about 48 courses taught including the 66 book packs of the Bible;

- The evangelism of communities through evangelism campaigns, public evangelism, door-to-door evangelism and radio broadcasts;

- Planting new congregations to extend the kingdom of God in our community;

Results achieved :

In terms of results achieved, we have on:

1. The training of evangelists or preachers: we currently have 12 students who are in their 7th quarter and will complete their Bible courses at the end of the first quarter of 2024.

Another training method initiated by our coordinator Steven Ashcraft is called Rapid Training for Church Leaders, which is highly effective in converting denominations, multiplying leaders and planting new congregations.

This year, we trained 50 persons across Guinea.

2. In terms of evangelism, we converted 223 men and women over the past 365 days. This result is the combination of all our efforts: graduates, students, school staff, evangelism teams in putting into practice the different methods of evangelism: personal, door-to-door, public, and campaigns(we did 4 evangelism campaign).

3. In terms of planting new congregations, we were able to establish 5 new congregations namely: Yende Bawa, N'Wokouma, N'Diafassou, Gbolonin and Kokossou under the guidance of God through his Holy Spirit.

4. In terms of Bible seminar

To end the year on a high note, the Gueckedou churches of Christ organized a Bible seminar from December 22 to 24, 2023. During these three days of fellowship in Christ, participants were edified by the following themes:

1-Religious feasts taught by Antoine Fassa Tolno.

2-The life of the early church, taught by Eloi Tolno, a graduate of the second batch of Bear Valley in Gueckedou.

3- Responsibilities in the Christian home, taught by our brother Venecious Fallah from Foya, Liberia.

4- Supporting God's work by Niouma 2 Kamano.

The event went well, with God's support, despite the fact that our country was going through a difficult period due to the fire at the hydrocarbon depot.

Conclusion

It's true that two thousand and twinty-three was a special year for the joy we felt for the baptism of 223 personsin the name of Jesus for the forgiveness of their sins. It should be noted that we had experienced moments of sadness due to the death of some of our brothers and sisters in the congregations, in particular the death of one of our students Antoine Tolno, the death of Tamba Nestor Kamano a graduate of the first batch as well as the cruel death of Tamba Emmanuel Kamano evangelists at the same time instructor at Bear Valley of Gueckedou, Guinea.

In terms of activity, in view of all that has been said above concerning the implementation of our various activities presented in this report, we must acknowledge that, we have been successful in evangelism and planting new congregations.

For this reason, we will continue to invest effectively in training young preachers full of energy to work  in evangelism and in planting more local congregations...

We plead with Bear Valley International, brothers and sisters in Christ, congregations of churches of Christ: people of good will to continue incessantly to support us spiritually morally financially and materially in the implementation of our 2024 action plan.

Then, we would like first thank Almighty God for the health and the grace that accompanied us during the 365 days of successfully carrying out the above-mentioned activities.

We also thank Bear Valley International and all the donors who continue to support the church of Christ in Guinea.

Thanks to God for holding our hands amid all challenges. Thanks to the leadership of the Church of Christ, Lagos Island, for giving us open doors to their facility all this time. We will not fail to appreciate the instructors for being resilient all this time. Taraba, Nigeria school celebrates second year

With profound gratitude to God Almighty, brethren, it gladdens my heart to write unto you this report of the last quarter of the year 2023. The Taraba School is two years old. Glory be to God.

COURSES:

Mr. Elkanah Itom Madaki taught the students Church History in the month of October, in the month of November, Mr. Chindo Sambo taught Bible Geography, while Mr. Bala Egbwakoteh taught the book of 1ST and 2nd Thessalonians in December. The students were so excited to learn of Bible Geography especially with the current happenings in Gaza and the Middle-East. For the first time they were also exposed to the falling from the early church doctrine, reformation and the restoration. The episode of the early brethren in Thessalonica was another great lesson. It was all together an impressive quarter.

EVANGELISM / EDIFICATION:

Our usual door to door evangelism was limited to Jalingo Metropolis due to insecurity. 182 bible studies were conducted under the period reviewed and only one baptism was recorded. In Lissam, the three day evangelism ended with two baptisms and one restoration, while the Gullung indoor lectureship ended up with selection of leaders to be ordained. Taraba Edification took place in Sarkin Dawa congregation where one of our students (Jerry Agbu) is the ‘student preacher’. Three souls were united with Christ through baptism and two restorations recorded.

NEEDS AND CHALLENGES:

The school is in need of public address system because most of the time the public address system we do rent is not delivered at the expected time or develops faults while using it. The school also is in need of a projector that will be used in classrooms and also during open air (public) preaching.

There are many interested candidates that wish to be enrolled into the school from other parts of Taraba and neighboring states as well the school lacks facilities to accommodate them, this has posed a problem for their admission. Our instructors are willing to sacrifice and teach all weekdays if such students will be provided with accommodation.

Our radio program is facing financial challenges even though we have set up a gospel team with representatives from three congregations in Jalingo metropolis. We hope and pray that God will open more doors.

Special seminar in Accra

Bear Valley - Accra

Operating Report for November 2023

We thank God for a successful month of November 2023. We are grateful for His grace and guidance in all our activities.

Class Activities

The following classes were conducted in November:

- Bro Gyasi-Quansah taught the last short course on world religion and denomination doctrines. The students learned about the history and doctrines of various religious groups and denominations and how to respond to them biblically and logically.

- Bro Kojo Acquah Beenyi met the second batch of Bachelor’s students on congregational development. Six students were present and they discussed the challenges and opportunities of developing and growing a congregation in the contemporary world.

- Bro Samuel Sasu Ntim taught Elementary Greek where he delt with areas such as Greek alphabets, vowels, diphthongs, breathing marks, and syllabification. The students appreciated the introduction to the original language of the New Testament and its relevance for biblical interpretation and exegesis.

- Bro E. O. Larbi also taught the Book of Revelation and Christian Ethics. The students explored the apocalyptic genre and symbolism of the book of Revelation and its application to the church today. They also studied the ethical principles and issues that Christians face in their daily lives and how to make moral decisions based on the word of God.

Exams and Research

The students took their exams at the end of the quarter and submitted their research papers on various topics. The lecturers graded the exams and papers and gave feedback to the students. The results showed that the students performed well and demonstrated their understanding and skills in their respective courses.

Visitation to our Students' Churches

Bro Samuel Sasu Ntim visited two churches for the last quarter at Pakro Road and Fotobi. He observed the worship services and the activities of the churches. He also interacted with the members and the leaders of the churches. He reported that the churches faced some challenges such as leadership issues by some old brethren at Pakro Road and the numerical growth of the the church. Also, the Fotobi congregation is challenged with a noisy environment due to five instrumental churches circling the brethren. This has made four baptized members difficult to worship. He also offered some suggestions and solutions to resolve these challenges. He encouraged the churches to remain faithful and steadfast in the Lord. A relocation is ongoing for Fotobi church for comfortable services.

Talk with Past Students

We had a great and successful talk with our past and present students. We had a good turnout of our alumni who came to share their experiences and testimonies. Bro Keith spoke to us about Bear Valley policies; the importance of continuing education and lifelong learning. Bro Emmanuel Amoo-Gyima taught us about the role of the preacher in the church and society. Bro Kojo and Bro E. O. Larbi also made good contributions to the discussion. We were inspired and motivated by the words and deeds of our past students.

Working on Campaign for New Students

We are working on a campaign to recruit new students for the next academic year 2024. Currently, we have six outstanding applicants who have expressed interest in studying with the school. We are following up with them and providing them with the necessary information and guidance. We are also planning to conduct some campaign activities in the following places: Tamale, Pakro Road, Fotobi, and Akotoshi. We hope to reach out to more potential students and persuade them to enroll in the college.

Radio Campaign

The college has been conducting a radio campaign to promote the college and the gospel. The director, Bro E. O. Larbi has been delivering interesting and edifying lessons on the radio. He has made a great impact in advertising the college and solving counseling problems. He has also brought many people to know Christ through radio messages. We thank God for this opportunity and we pray that more souls will be saved through this medium. However, the college still needs more funds to sponsor the radio campaign. We appeal to all our brethren and well-wishers to support us in this endeavor.

We will need (GHC 48,000.00) Forty-Eight Thousand Ghana Cedis to continue this programme when the contract ends next year April 2024 apart from transportation. We still need your kind donations both in cash and in prayer.

School Bus

We are finding it very difficult in our campaigns and visitation because of the non-availability of school bus. The bus facilitates our movement in preaching and teaching, and wish a new bus is acquired. Hope to help find funds to purchase a new one next year.

Conclusion

We thank God for a fruitful month and the safe return of Bro Stephen Ashcraft. We also thank all our partners and friends for their prayers and support. We pray that God will continue to bless and prosper the work of the college and the church. Amen.

Graduation in Sierra Leone

ACTIVITY OPERATION REPORT FOR NOVEMBER, 2023

Full Time and the Extended Programs

INTRODUCTION

As we said in the conclusion of our October 2023 report, we were anticipating to share with you the November 2023 report of what is going on here at KBVBI. And now we can thankfully write and appreciate God because He has kept us alive and strong to share with you the good news of what is happening here. We hope that you would be very patient to go through this report and as you do that, we pray that the good Lord will be with you always as He has been with us.   The following activities took place in November 2023: a lectureship and the graduation programs were held the new class began, one of the instructors got married, the Bear Valley International Director visited the school for the first time, and souls were converted. Beloved brethren, we encourage to keep on reading for more information on the highlighted activities.

LECTURESHIP AND THE GRADUATION CEREMONY

In the report for September 2023, we informed you that our 3rd graduation and the 2nd Biennial Lectureship were scheduled to be held from November 16-18, 2023. And by the grace of God, the program came and passed successfully. The lectureship was held on the first two days (16th and 17th November, 2023), and the theme for the lectureship was, “In Times Like These….” Under this theme, various topics were handled by various speakers. We were blessed by seasoned speakers both in Sierra Leone here and other parts of the world. Three of our external speakers included Brother Keith Kasarjian (The International Director) Arthur David and Brother Borton Pyee Jr., all from Monrovia, Liberia.  The program brought together many attendees from various congregations of Churches of Christ in Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia. Some of the Alumni were present and took active part in all the activities. We invited some non-Christians too and they came. One of them got converted after the whole program. Brother Dave Arthur together with his wife, Sister Enora Arthur and the team of 4 more that he brought from Monrovia. Sister Anora took ladies class and it was insightful.  The symposium was held and many issues were handled.

The lectureship was followed by a football match between the Bear Valley staff and the graduating students. The match ended 1:1. We believe that if our International Director, Brother Keith had played, maybe the staff should have won. While the match was going on, spectators came and some of the brethren who were not playing were engaged in sharing tracts and preaching to them individually. We thank God that a social occasion like that could as well be used to share the Gospel with the perishing souls. After the whole lectureship and the other activities, on the 18th November, the graduation exercise was held. As we informed you in our October report, twenty (20) students were enrolled in 2021 for the program. However, in the course of time, three (3) couldn’t continue. Therefore, the school graduated seventeen (17) preachers and evangelists. Brother Keith Kasarjian charged them and were sent out to turn the world upside down with the Gospel. We thank God for the successful program.

THE NEW CLASS BEGINS

In our October 2023 report, we informed you that on October 6, 2023, an entrance exam and an interview were conducted for a new set of students in the full time program. After going through the due process, all of them were admitted and were told to go home and prepare to start classes on November 6, 2023. Therefore on November 6, 2023, seventeen (17) of them came and started classes. We are yet to see the 6 more students. The administration continues to check on them to see what is still holding them back. Though some of them said they are still looking for money to buy some of the things that they would be using in the school like the school attire, shoes, etc. There are even other brethren that are indicating interests to be enrolled, therefore, we are hopeful that the number will increase. Please keep on praying for them and for us also.

THE ACADEMIC DEAN’S MARRIAGE

One of our instructors, Michael Sahr Triyoh who also functions as our Dean got married on November 11, 2023 to his sweetheart, Edith Trioh. We know that we requested for your prayers for the success of that marriage and truly the Lord answered those prayers. Thank you all for your concerns. Thank you to our coordinator who was also very supportive in the process. Please keep on pray for the Triyohs as they have come together to form a godly family.

BOTHER KEITH KASARJIAN VISITS THE SCHOOL FOR THE FIRST TIME

There have been plans for the International Director of Bear Valley Schools worldwide to visit the Sierra Leone Bear Valley Bible Institute, but because of other demands and engagements, he was not able to until on November 16, 2023 when he landed here. His coming was very impactful and rewarding. During his visit, he taught a Bible lesson at our lectureship and also charged the graduates. He met and encouraged the new students; he also watched them use the E-Library that was set up by our hard working coordinator, Steve Ashcraft. Moreover, he held meetings with Bear Valley staff from Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea. He was as well encouraged by what he saw happening in the school and appreciated the coordinator and the staff here. We had a great fellowship indeed. We appreciate his coming and we are hopeful that he keeps on visiting us.

CONVERSION OF SOULS

As evangelism continues, souls are being won to Christ on a daily basis. We are grateful to God that He was able to add twelve (12) souls to the Church in this month of November. Please brethren, let us keep on praying for them as we have always done.

GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION

The entire one body family of Bear Valley Bible Institute Kenema Sierra Leone continues to express her deepest appreciation to her supporters, sponsors and all our well-wishers for your financial and the spiritual support you continue to demonstrate toward her. We remember very well that a year ago, we were asked to submit our prayer requests so you could pray for us. Your involvement in the work here is truly acknowledged. Brethren, we are really appreciative. May the Lord bless and uphold you and may your works follow you. May God bless all of you!

CONCLUSION

In summation, we pray that the Lord keeps us all to witness what will unfold in the last month of the year, December. Thank you, our patient readers!

Reaching souls in Guinea

Greetings from Bear Valley of Gueckedou, Guinea.

Please see below our report of activity for November 2023

Introduction

We pleased to update you on all the activities we carried out during the month of November 2023. The result is satisfactory, as you will see from the rest of the report, which is divided into eight parts.

Please read with interest and favor so that we share the same sense of satisfaction.

I-Teaching Class room.

Day after day we follow the program of teaching the Scriptures established for inspiration, instruction, edification and correction, so that our students may be accomplished and fit for every good work.

During the past month we taught the following courses:

1 Paul's Epistles to the Thessalonians, whose teaching began at the end of October

2 Christian leadership

3 The Epistle to the Hebrews.

II- Evangelism

The gospel has always been a power endowed by God for the salvation of people of all nations. That's why Jesus sent us to proclaim the good new and baptize those who believe. In fact, we went to Kokossou to announce the gospel with the  evangelism team of Tekoulo, made up of Bear Valley graduates. Glory be to God, 14 men and women believed and were baptized, which means that the church of Christ is now in this village.

Door-to-door and personal evangelism also bore fruit in Fassaba, for 3 young accepted Jesus as their Savior and were baptized by their evangelist Eloi Tolno.

We should also mention the following baptisms: 2 in Kendessoua by Alain Mano one of the current students, 1 in N'Dendessou and 2 in Yende Bawa.

III- Rapid Training of Churches Leaders.

This method is also effective for multiplying disciples and churches leaders.

From November 20 to 30, 2023, we trained 14 people, 7 of them came from the denominations. After two days of teaching, the 6 people from the denominations understood the saving truth and immediately decided to convert. We baptized them in the name of Jesus to become simply Christians. It should also be noted that 4 of them expressed a desire to follow the two-year training program of Bear Valley for the next class.

IV- Graduation and Evangelism Team Meeting

In the interest of advancing God's work in Guinea, our Coordinator Steven Ashcraft convened a meeting in Koindou,SL on 03/11/2023, all graduates and some current students from Bear Valley of Gueckedou were present to discuss work and plan evangelism activities with the goal of converting many lost souls to Jesus and planting new congregations. We also attended the graduation of students from Sunset Bible  College in Koindou.

V-Graduation and Meeting with Keith.

We took part in the graduation ceremony of Bear Valley students from Kenema on 16 to 18/11/2023. This gave us the opportunity to meet for the first time Keith Kasarjian Extension Director of Bear Valley International , who after our introduction and briefing on the school's progress in Guinea congratulated us and encouraged us further to continue the work with the same vision of having many harvesters for God's field.

VI-Work Equipment...

We're delighted with the acquisition of an electronic library initiated by our Coordinator Steven Ashcraft. During his last working visit at the beginning of November, he show us how to use it and he also gave us 3 computers and their connection accessories. As soon as he returned to the USA, he approved our request to pay a battery for the power supply. So please be informed that we had the nucleus of an electronic library which we hope to increase in hardware (computer and accessories).

VII-Black Page

Saa Votala Kamano member of Bouliedou's congregation, one of the students of the last rapid training session on 20/11/2023 mentionned below, died of a short illness. The third day of training, he suffered intense headaches that took his life after three days.

With the assurance given to us by the Scriptures in Revelation 14:13, we believe that our brother Saa is now happy to die in the Lord.

VIII-Suggestions

We ask all our backers, brothers and sisters in Christ, to continue support us spiritually, morally, financially and materially. Let us also pray for the family of our brother who pass away, that God may comfort them.

Conclusion

The various evangelism results, with a total of 25 people baptized, show that the dry season is shaping up well.

We thank God and the entire administration of Bear Valley International, for with their help we are becoming productive in the Lord's vineyard.

In particular, we thank Keith  Kasarjian and Steven Ashcraft, respectively Extension Director and Coordinator of Bear Valley International, for their love of doing God's work every where in the world, come rain or snow.

We also thank Ken Stanley and Barry Baggott for their support in the progress of the church in Guinea.

We thank every person or group of people, as well as all the congregations that support God's work in Guinea.

May God's grace accompany us all.

We conclude by saying that all the Churches of Christ in Guinea greet you.

Hello!

Greetings from BV school in Ekwendeni Malawi. We all the joy we want to share with you the good news that have been received in this month of November from our students.

December plans!

The teachers have agreed to have some few trips to villages, checking on how the students are doing in their home congregations. It is one way of encouraging them.

Praying for peace in Ukraine

Dear brothers and sisters,

I'd like to share with you some news from the Bear Valley Bible Institute and some  changes in my family life.

About a week ago the students returned to the online studies after the evangelical practice and vacation. Currently they are studying the gospels of Matthew and Mark. I'm the Instructor, and the course will last a week and a half. The students had an opportunity to help the local congregations with delivering the humanitarian aid and establishing the contacts with the people who were receiving it. It was a good experience for them  as well as learning to preach and demonstrate patience in ministry. Vyacheslav and Alexander worked in Dnipro while Maksim and Vadim helped the congregation in Bela Tserkva. Victoria was in Kiyv and Chernihiv where she helped her husband in ministry.

About 3 weeks ago my family left Ukraine, spent some time in Warsaw and now we are in Germany, in the city of Leipzig. This city has the congregation of the Church of Christ where we worship alongside our brothers and sisters. We decided to make this difficult and responsible decision to secure the safety of our three children. We were physically and emotionally exhausted to constantly live in a state of stress. While in Warsaw I had an opportunity to preach and teach a lesson in the middle of the week. We noticed that there were many Ukrainian speaking preachers there and we decided to move to a different location where our presence will be more beneficial in our opinion. The congregation in Leipzig is multicultural, brethren speak Ukrainian, English, German and Spanish. There are some families from Ukraine here, people who we've known for a long time.

It looks like there are not too many news but the last three weeks were very tiring. We can't wait for the return of peace so we can safely go back to Ukraine.

We are grateful to all who continues supporting the  Bible Institute, the Instructors and my ministry.

May God keep you safe.

Your brother,

Dennis Sopelnik
